Shanghai Venture bounced back to her best form today with a win at Moe under the talented Lyle Hewitson. The 5yo mare is our first winner for the season and she runs for some loyal owners.

Ellmaknifiko heads back to the Pakenham Synthetic course today which is a surface he really seems to like. The old boy came to us from another stable and has been racing well. He was a winner three starts back at the track and trip.

The evergreen Bush Christmas is set to start the next phase of her career as a broodmare. The Poet’s Voice mare won three races and had five placings from her 29 starts. She’s out of Red Margarita who is a mare we know very well.

All going well, she will have a few more trips to the races before retiring.

There are opportunities available to race some relations to Bush Christmas, including the rising 2yo by Horse Of The Year Ghaiyyath.

How do you coax a win from a horse such as Blue Cup, who hasn't prevailed for two-and-a-half years and is yet to salute in Australia?

Brian McGrath is the latest trainer set that task and he's relying on a combination of Blue Cup relaxing and the skills of jockey Blaike McDougall in a bid for the eight-year-old gelding to break that drought at The Valley on Saturday in a Benchmark 70 over 2040m.
