Found a snake skin while clearing out some bush land. This one must have been around 150cm long. Didn't realise at first it was just the skin so it scared the hell out of me.

Just spent the whole weekend cutting wood for the winter! There's something so satisfying about hearing the sound the wood split and seeing it split apart. It's hard work, but it's worth it to know that we'll be warm all winter long. Who else enjoys the feeling of a well-stocked woodpile? πŸͺ΅πŸ”₯

Digging 200 meters of trench for reticulation. As seen in the pictures our land is quite dry as we do not have a lot of rain here. So, in summer we need to supplement feed the sheep with hay and pellets. Hopefully with the reticulation we will be able to have a nice green pasture for the sheep.

Easy DIY solution to entertain the chickens. We call it "cabbage on a string". The kids made this all by themselves.
All you need is a cabbage, a drill, a piece of rope or string and a screw or a hook. Drill the screw in the cabbage, attach the string and hang the cabbage. Make sure to not hang the cabbage too high or too low. Probably, 10 to 15cm high is perfect. It's a good food source and entertaining for both chickens and humans to watch. πŸ”πŸ”

We noticed a small lump in our ram a few days ago. It turns out that grass seeds can sometimes become stuck in an animal's skin and cause all sorts of problems.

These small seeds can burrow into an animal's fur and eventually work their way into the skin, where they can cause infection, inflammation, and even abscesses. This can be extremely painful for the animal and may require veterinary intervention to remove the seeds and treat any resulting issues.

The lump was getting bigger and bigger, so the vet came 2 days ago to remove the seeds. Today we had to clean the wound again and inject some anti biotics.

Flipping a 60kg male sheep and holding him still is no easy feat πŸ’ͺπŸ‘πŸ‘
