There has been a recently reported case of Leptospirosis in a dog in the Newcastle area. This is a serious and often fatal disease, and easily preventable with vaccination.
If your dog is not up to date with Leptospirosis vaccination please book in for it soon.

Anzac road is flooded again this morning so we won’t be able to open. We’ll keep a close eye on the situation and open when when we can.

We have some great news for all our lovely clients this Easter - We will have a vet available at our Charmhaven Branch on Easter Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and Easter Monday from 10am to 2pm!
Appointments will be strictly restricted to sick and unwell animals only. Please call 4393 2628 to book, our go to our website: charmhavenvethospital.com.au to make an online booking.
Just a reminder - if you are running low on current medications or prescription foods you have tomorrow only left to come in and collect them, we will not be available for routine services until Tuesday at 8.30am.

We took some time out to have fun and get creative this weekend! Some lovely faces are missing from this crew, believe it or not this is only about 75% of our team between our 3 clinics at Charmhaven, Morisset and Tuggerah.
I personally am so proud of the work these guys do every single day, you won’t find a team more dedicated to the health and wellbeing of your pets, they’re in great hands!

We're in for some hot days 🥵. Please keep your pets safe by:
🐾 Keeping them indoors, or providing them with a cool, shady spot to lie in.
🐾 Provide plenty of fresh cool water to drink.
🐾 Only exercise them in the early morning or evening.
🐾 Keep their paws off hot asphalt or concrete.

Know the signs of heat stroke, and if your pet shows any of these signs wet them down and bring them straight to us:
🔴 Excessive or rapid panting, drooling, or thick tacky drool.
🔴 Bright red, purple, or blue looking gums.
🔴 Lethargy, agitation, confusion, staggering, or collapse.
🔴 Vomiting or diarrhoea.
🔴 Seizures.
