Tiger snake. 🐍✌️😁
Species: notechis scutatus.
(With no visible tiger stripes.)
I'm currently getting a lot of calls for tiger snakes, lowland copperheads and red belly black snakes across the Gippsland region, as the weather has been perfect for reptile activity. (Warm with regular storm activity.)
Take care, especially with children and pets, at all times. And I highly recommend having a snakebite first aid kit, if you live or visit areas or habitats with regular snake activity.

Always remember not to leave doors open, or easily accessible entry to buildings.. especially on the extremely warm days or nights that we are currently experiencing!. 🐍✌️πŸ₯΅
Due to the cooler temperatures the inside of buildings provide and with often cool draughts created by AC units or fans.. emerging from gaps, holes or open windows & doors.
Snakes will easily search for these openings and locate them, utilising any available hole or access point to enter in an attempt to try regulate their body temperature.
Often in search of food, water or possible shelter and cover.
"Take care!" 🐍

Eastern Brown snake! 🐍✌️😎
Species: Pseudonaja textilis
Photographer/ snake controller - Rusty.
With the warmer weather, expect many species to become more active or far more commonly sighted around housing, sheds and structures. Due to our local snake species searching for water, shelter and often a nice cool area to try and regulate their body temperature.
"Take extreme care during these times!"
I suggest purchasing a snake bite first aid kit.. kept in your vehicle glovebox, as your vehicle is usually always close by. If you reside in an area with venomous snake species or intend to travel to one. (Possibly life saving advice.)

For immediate assistance or advice in the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland region, Victoria Australia.. Call anytime 24/7.

Redbelly black snake.
Species: pseudechis porphyriacus.
Snake tip: Take care in gardens and around the home...
And if you have hollow garden ornaments they often can become refuge or sometimes a home for a snake, reptile or animal.
Remember an available hole in something that provides hard cover or under or around structures is ideal for a snake.
If you do have any hollow garden ornaments and want to fill them, an easy way is with expandable foam from a hardware store.
Once it expands and dries you can cut it level with a Stanley knife. And this will help to prevent available refuge and cover that may be used by a snake in your yard or around the home. "Welcome to Australia!"

A couple of large Tiger snakes..
Species: Notechis scutatus.
As the weather warms up and due to time of year I'm getting a vast increase in calls regarding tiger snakes. Some larger than others, and as always in a variety of colours and markings due to breeding and area they reside in. (Due to adaption.)
Take care and always call a professional snake controller in your area to give advice or assist if you have a snake issue, never try deal with a snake issue yourself.
They are a protected species under Australian law and that is for the animals welfare and also your own, and of others.
Knowledge of a possibly deadly native species is important if approaching any wild animals. (Complacency can kill.)
Take care and stay safe!
If needing advice or assistance I'm always available 24/7 for snake and wildlife issues.

A few animals I've helped recently to stay safe...
Always try be careful and considerate to wildlife on our roads and take safe precautions when driving for the safety of others and our native Australian species. This includes slowing down through wetland areas and river system overpasses or wildlife tree corridors. These are common areas where animals cross roadways and can put themselves or people in danger from possible traffic incidents and accidents.
Take care on our roads, think safety first if stopping to assist native wildlife and stop in a safe location to do so. We all want to be safe and considered by others and that includes all living native animals, especially during spring and summer when many animals are breeding or raising young.
If needing to warn wildlife of your vehicle's approach, beep your horn and slow down safely and they should move off the road.
If you see a road hazard or wildlife on the road you can also flash your lights to oncoming traffic to warn them of a possible road hazard ahead.
(Or you can use hazard lights if stopping.)
Let's keep ourselves and native species safe so that the future generations can enjoy our native species and further protect them and create a better future for all.
If needed for advice for a wildlife issue or possibly a wildlife carer I'm always available on mobile phone 24/7.
Kind regards,

So it is that time of year again!
As snakes become more active and I receive far more calls concerning snake and wildlife issues due to spring and the weather becoming warmer... The season has started!
Always stay aware and as safe as possible when out and about and also around the home even in built up areas, take care and act with caution especially with children and pets.
And try always to keep your dog on a lead for their own safety and that of others including wildlife.
I deal with many bites that occur each snake season on pets and sometimes people in the local community.
If you ever are in need of advice or have any snake or animal issues.. always feel free to call me anytime.
I am available 24/7 year round for the community and for public safety.
A quality snake bite first aid kit is always advised, and is best kept in your vehicle so it is readily available when required whether at home or out enjoying the school holidays, the local environment and sunshine.
(Please stay safe.)
