Thought it was time for a rebranding and new logo 😊

First time with me being in the saddle and having a bridle on, took it like a champ. This boy is a superstar.
Spent the whole time giving scratches and reassurance. Mounted from both sides and he didn’t put a hoof wrong

Beautiful boy coming along in leaps and bounds, taking my time with this young fella as to not overload him as he is unsure of a lot of things but coming along nicely. Didn’t get a buck or rear with his saddle being put on the done up or lunging in the walk trot or canter the other week. He stood like a champ, just goes to show if you take it nice and slow and let them process everything there will be no reaction to “new scary things”

I’ve had this big beautiful boy here to start his ridden career for a few weeks now.
His coming along nicely.
In his time here he has built up some nice muscle.
He has learnt how to back up and move his hindquarters from both voice and body language and has learnt to lunge on the line aswell as some free lunge play.
Now to some this may not seem like a big deal but lunging is the start of his groundwork which turns into his ridden, moving his hindquarters means I safely move his bum away from me by simply asking and being able to backup I can ask him to move away from me safely and quickly if i ever need him to, being able to backup from voice alone helps with unloading from straight load floats

Still the best thing I’ve ever taught my girl.
Liberty definitely forms an unbreakable bond between you and your partner

My out of control 2.5 yo stallion 🤪
I believe in starting them young with exposure to absolutely everything on the ground from both sides, this will help make the breaking in process a lot smoother down the track with no surprises

A few weeks ago my partner was splitting wood in the other paddock and my girl was reacting badly in her paddock carrying on, snorting running around etc so I thought it would be a good time to bring her in the same paddock and do some work with her, didn’t take much to get her to stand at all as you can see, she did try and react and was still unsure for most of the time if the splitter was going to eat her but the old Milly would of tried taking off more than once. She did very well trusting me and she has come so far since first getting her 5 years ago

I’ve been using the bike to feed both of my horses to get them used to bikes and associate them with good rather than bad and clearly it has been working.
My boy has absolutely blown me away with how confident he is with the bike.
My girl would usually take off running but with a little reassurance she stayed in place with a little bit of fidgeting
Couldn’t be any prouder of them both 🧡🖤

Here at Dakota Equestrian we would like to wish everyone a safe and festive Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🏼🐴

My girl on the other hand unfortunately had some trauma as a weanling 😔 so she takes a bit more to come around to scary objects that move and scary objects that don’t move. She done very well with the streamers and balloons even touching the balloons with her nose. Cap gun took a bit for her to settle down and stand when being asked but I ended the session very proud of her, she gives her all and puts so much trust into me and it’s very rewarding when you can get a 600kilo animal to trust you with their life 🥰💕
