Little Roger came to us as a lost little stray all on his lonesome and we mean, how could we say not to this striking little man 🫶
He immediately became well known to the team for his need to be picked up and cuddled - he can usually be found chilling on his foster mama, our very our vet nurse Kate's shoulder. He has grown up in a multi-cat household and it used to kids too, we think he will make a great asset to any family!

Roger is available to meet new potential families now and can be secured to pre-adopt with him ready to head to his home post desexing in about two weeks! 💚

Roger's adoption fee includes his desexing, microchipping, all three vaccinations plus we offer all our new families 10% off vet consultations, kitten food and parasite prevention for the first 6 months of adoption!

The World Veterinary Association is pleased to observe the theme “Animal Health Takes a Team” in this year’s World Veterinary Day 2025.

This theme highlights the collaborative nature of veterinary practice and underscores the essential role that multiple professionals play in delivering high-quality veterinary services. WVA calls on all veterinarians, veterinarian technicians, veterinary paraprofessional and all others that make veterinary services possible to participate in the great worldwide campaign led by the WVA.

This year’s theme focuses on the importance of teamwork in veterinary care, acknowledging that effective veterinary services often rely on the collective efforts of a range of professionals, including veterinary nurses, technicians, researchers, and other allied health professionals.

The WVA Council selected this theme to shine a spotlight on the dynamic nature of veterinary services, which require cooperation and collaboration across various fields of expertise to address the diverse challenges in animal health and care. By working together, veterinary teams can ensure the highest standards of care and support for animals, their owners, and the globe.

This week celebrates Veterinary Receptionist Week however as most of our clients know, our team wear lots of different hats in lots of different positions in our clinic 😂

So, a huge shout out to our entire cat clinic team who take it in turns behind the desk answering phones, responding to clients and just in general keeping our busy clinic running so smoothly - you are all legends 🩵

And here is a new face you might catch on the front desk welcoming our clients and their kitties to our clinic, 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗘!!!

Melanie is a passionate vet nurse in training and receptionist who has ALWAYS had a soft spot for our feline friends. She has recently enrolled to study her Certificate III in Animal Care and is super excited to get started! Mel has been a long term client of our clinic and is now so happy to be part of the cat clinic working team and is committed to providing quality care and compassion to our whiskered patients and their families.

When Mel isn't at the clinic, you can find her doting on her cheeky Ragdolls; Missy, Mochi, Miles, Magic, Tigger, Opal, Lulu, Summer and Zuri - and of course her pups Scout and Paisley. Mel shares her home with her human family as well including her Fiance and three children!

Make sure you say hello and introduce yourself and your kitty to Melanie next time you are in the clinic!

Anyone for a Ham Sandwich? 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗛! 💙

Hamish was taken on by our clinic as a teeny tiny newborn and over the last 11 weeks he has grown into the most handsome little man ever - he is now hunting for a lap he can his own forever! 🫶

Hamish is the ultimate family member who is dog friendly, cat friendly, kid friendly, litter trained and carrier trained! He purrs non-stop and give cuddles out every minute he can - we promise he will make a fabulous best friend! He also really loves sleeping on his foster mamas head and ensures a wake up alarm consists on kisses on the head too! You can find Hamish working long hours in the biscuit factory whether it be a nice fluffy blanket or his foster mamas arms - no days off for this hard worker! He also enjoys belly rubs and long snuggles on the couch!

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 - 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗩𝗲𝘁 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗲!

Kate has been in the Veterinary industry from a very young age and has always been an animal lover! Having grown up on a cattle station and always having pets including cats, dogs and horses, snakes and rabbits, this avid kitty lover is back in the industry now ready to grow her passion. Kate is a mother to two wonderful kids and enjoys giving knitting a try and thoroughly enjoys cooking - we never complain about the yummy snacks bought into us!

Kate has also stepped up to be one of our foster carers which is absolutely amazing and you will certainly see her showing off her kitty cats as often as possible and happily having a chat about your furry friends at any given opportunity!

Please make Kate feel welcome next time you see her in the clinic, she is very much looking forward to growing with the team and meeting our clients and patients! WELCOME KATE! 💚💚💚

Our Doja girl is still desperately seeking her forever home. At 14 weeks old she is well and truly ready to head to her forever home and we really want to make this happen for her!

Doja is desexed, microchipped and has had all her vaccinations and is $200 to adopt now 💚

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 - 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗗𝗥 𝗦𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗘 𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗦!

Hailing from the Gold Coast originally, Sophie graduated from JCU here in Townsville in 2023 and has been recently working as a mixed practice veterinarian on the Gold Coast. Her love for felines became pretty quickly known in the industry where she volunteered with the Australian Welfare League QLD cattery throughout high school and of course this has now flourished!

Dr Sophie also did placement with our clinic during her fourth year studies and has now moved back to Townsville to join us permanently to pursue her passion for a career in Feline Medicine - and we couldn't be more excited for her!

Dr Sophie is a proud fur mum to only one cat (we can change that) so far named Buffy whom she shares with her partner here in Townsville.

Let's welcome Dr Sophie as she settles into our clinic, she is super excited to meet out wonderful clients and our beautiful patients! WELCOME DR SOPHIE!! 💚💚💚💚

Catherine our current Practice Manager is now on maternity leave but don't worry she will be back by the end of the year and we will of course update you when this Cat has her kitten 😻
