Why Border Collies block other dogs 👀🐕‍🦺

It’s not dominance.
It’s instinct.

Border Collies are bred to control movement.
In unstructured play, they create their own job — managing other dogs.

Blocking = body pressure + eye + position.

Without structure, this can:
• frustrate dogs
• escalate tension
• exhaust the collie

That’s why we use controlled social time, decompression, and purpose-driven play.

Instincts don’t need suppressing.
They need direction.
