Mmb Roc O Destiny found her new home a couple of weeks ago, and we couldn’t be happier with where she’s landed Sarah Percy 🩷

After coming back from the breakers, she returned with such a happy attitude and a real willingness to go to work and learn new things. Her new owner hadn’t ridden breakers in quite some time, but “Tullee June” looked after her every step of the way, just showing the kind of mare she is.

She’s by our stud Power Of Destiny, a consistent producer of trainable, forward performance horses, by Acres Destiny; a proven sire of campdraft and performance horses known for passing on athleticism, work ethic and great minds.

Not every improvement comes from riding 👇🏼

Regular chiropractic work is a big part of keeping horses comfortable and moving the way they should. When everything is aligned, it makes a huge difference in their softness, balance, and willingness to work.

I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t always been as consistent with it as I should be; but it’s something I’m really focusing on improving.

It’s best to stay on top of it before problems arise. What can look like a training issue is often just a horse feeling sore or uncomfortable.

A big thank you to Matteo Adornetto Equine Manipulator & Trainer for coming out to go over some of our horses this week. Matteo explains where the problems are, how they arise and how to help them feel their best in the following weeks!

Don’t overtrain the good ones.

Just because a horse gives you more or learns quicker doesn’t mean you should take more from them. The ones that try the hardest are often the easiest to overdo.

It’s easy to get excited as a trainer when they’re offering that extra mile; I’ve been guilty of it myself. But learning to rein yourself back in is just as important as pushing forward. That’s been one of my biggest lessons over the past year.

Know when to stop. Reward the effort. Let them sit in the good.

That’s how you keep a willing horse willing.

Nina is coming along beautifully in her work and really starting to put the pieces together. She’s a 2022 filly with a great mind, soft feel, and a willing attitude, everything you want in a young performance horse.

Each ride she’s growing in confidence, learning her job, and showing more consistency. It’s exciting to watch her develop and step into her potential.

A big shoutout to Feed 2 Go for helping Nina look and feel her best, adding Hygain Balanced into her feeding regime has made a noticeable difference in her condition, energy, and overall wellbeing.

Young horses like Nina are a big part of what we do here at Running B Quarter Horses, putting the time into them properly so they come out confident, responsive, and ready for the next step.

It’s been a hot minute since the last post!

I have some limited spots available in early May, before some Nq ABCRA events start. For anyone wanting their horses tuned up or lessons for themselves to be run ready! Some of the colts and I headed down the road to compete at CHBHA Central Highlands. Big thank you to the girls who are both on and off the committee, who work day and night to make it run smoothly. We are super lucky to have people look after the grounds to make sure our horses have the best chance!

In round 3, MMB The Devils Got Mojo placed 1st in the 3D. Frenchmans Famous Fling placed 4th in the 3D both the girls first ever outing 👏🏽
In round 4, Leroy placed 1st in the 3D for his first one of the year 💪🏽

TwoStroke and Truck laid down some nice runs in rounds 4 & 5 and just missed out on the 2D 🌟

2011 honest and consistent gelding. Runs in a snaffle and places in the top of 2d and sometimes bottom of the 1D. No nasties but can be forward moving before runs, no nasties, would suit an experienced rider! Has been around bikes and tracks cattle well, easy to shoe, rug and float. Requires minimum maintenance. Pm for further details

Can possibly haul to Townsville on the 16th March.
