Dogs have always been more than companions to me—they are teachers. They reflect energy, emotion, and intention with honesty and precision. Working with them isn’t just something I do; it’s something I feel deeply called to. I specialise in retrievers and high-energy sporting breeds because I understand what they were bred for—and what happens when those instincts aren’t fulfilled (like the “creative redesign” of your garden or the coffee table). These dogs are intelligent, sensitive, and purpose-driven. When given structure, movement, and meaningful work, they become balanced, confident, and deeply content.
I take a holistic view of dog care. I don’t just focus on physical exercise—I consider a dog’s nervous system, confidence, pack dynamics, and overall wellbeing. Dogs respond to calm, grounded leadership and clear energy. I guide behaviour through structure and presence rather than force, helping dogs regulate themselves in stimulating environments and move with purpose.
I believe nature is the greatest teacher for dogs. The beach, the bush, the water—these are classrooms. When a retriever is allowed to swim, carry, track scents, and explore varied terrain, something shifts within them. They return to instinct. I lean toward natural approaches to diet and wellbeing wherever possible, valuing nourishment and enrichment that align with canine biology. My goal is simple: to help your dog return home not just tired, but fulfilled—calmer, clearer, and more connected.
My name is Aubrey, the Torquay creator behind Labadore. I will be your retriever’s training facilitator and outdoors adventure teammate.
