As we head into another public holiday, we want to remind our wonderful clients that while our clinic is closed, we are still here to support you and your pets- anytime, day or night.

📞 If you call our clinic number, 5296 0444, during the closure, you’ll be directed to our incredible Vetriage team! They are experience vet nurses and are available to help assist you in assessing your pets condition and guide you to the next best steps— including referrals to emergency services if needed. 🐶🐱

On the 8th of March, four of our veterinary nurses went to a Vet Nurse celebration night held at the Mariott Hotel in Melbourne. 🥂
The event was hosted and organised by the company Antinol, a supplement for both cats and dogs of all ages, to help with joint inflammation and promote a healthy skin and coat!
The night was full of dancing, a 3 course meal and drinks... the photo booth was a fun bonus! 📸
We all thoroughly enjoyed our night and got to meet other vet nurses from around Victoria that share our passion for taking care of our four legged companions. 🐾❤️

Purchase a pair of colourful and funky socks for $10, with purchases contributing to a volunteer team of healthcare professionals travelling abroad to assist our Pacific neighbours and provide support to the SPCA in Fiji 2025.

Dr. Jess is a compassionate and experienced veterinarian at Fur Life Vet Torquay, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a genuine love for animals to the clinic 🐾 Originally from Sydney, Dr. Jess honed her skills working at the renowned Bondi Vet before embarking on an exciting journey that took her to England, where she gained further experience and met her partner, Oli ❤️
Her dedication to providing the highest level of care for all her patients is matched only by her deep empathy for the families she works with. Whether it's treating a furry patient or offering advice to pet owners, Dr. Jess is known for her warm approach and gentle nature.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Jess loves spending time with her family, travelling, and enjoying our beautiful surf coast beaches. At home, she shares her life with her beloved cat, Woody 🐱, who is an expert at soaking up the sun and snuggling up for cuddles!

Meet Pip!
Our friendly and dedicated receptionist who always goes above and beyond! Whether it's greeting clients with a smile or lending an extra hand out the back, she’s always ready to help wherever needed. Her warm, bubbly personality makes her a beloved part of our team.
Pip spent many years following the snow seasons before finding her passion in the Animal Industry. In 2023, she completed her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, completing her placement here at Fur Life. She soon fell into the reception role and loved everything about it, from chatting to clients to giving endless treats and belly rubs to our patients 🐶

When she’s not in the clinic, Pip is at home caring for her two chickens, Parmi and Colonel 🐔, or looking after Molly, her parents lovable Labrador who occasionally makes special visits to the clinic. She also enjoys spending time outdoors - Whether its soaking up the sun in Summer ☀️ or snowboarding in the winter ⛄ She’s also a huge fan of Pilates, staying active while having fun! 🤸‍♀️

Bubbly, laid-back, and always up for a laugh, Pip brings a carefree spirit to everything she does. She’s truly someone who makes every day a little brighter!

Meet Dr. Claire BSc BVSc MANZCVS (ECC)

Clinical lead ⭐️

Claire started in the veterinary industry as a veterinary nurse. She took a leap in 2005 and moved interstate to study Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2010.

Her career took off with an intense first chapter in Kyabram, as a very busy dairy vet. But as life (and family) called her to Melbourne, Claire turned her focus to her passion for small animal emergency medicine, critical care and surgery.

In 2018, Claire completed her memberships in emergency and critical care. Her ability to think quickly and stay calm under pressure has made her a trusted figure in her field. She thrives on the investigative side of veterinary science, always eager to get to the bottom of a medical mystery and tailor the perfect care plan for each patient.

Her role in the profession has evolved over the last few years. Claire is deeply committed to ensuring that all her patients—and the people who care for them—get the highest standard of care. And in the last 12 months, she’s taken on a leadership role at Fur Life, where she’s focused on building a supportive, empowering environment for her team. Claire’s goal is to help each staff member reach their goals, while fostering a culture of well-being and work-life balance in a demanding industry. Her leadership style is grounded in respect and collaboration. She feels lucky to be part of such an amazing team and community. She believes the team vibe is palpable as soon as you walk through the doors at Fur Life. We love our patients and clients, we respect each other, and we laugh.

After hours, she is a busy local mum who loves family time, beach, exercise and sunrise ocean dunking. You will often see her rushing in and out of school drop off, watching her kids at their various extra-curricular activities, or being walked by her wire hair Jack Russel’s Fizzi and Lenny 🐶
