Where’s all our Territory ringers at??!
What a cool opportunity for someone! Not me, I can’t even handle a sideways glance these days 😂😵💫
Listen Up!
This ain’t no pony ride. Cross Country Equine is lookin’ for raw, hungry riders ready to cut their teeth training green horses and mules in Wyoming’s mountains. You’ll ride hard, live rough, and come out tougher—or wash out tryin’. This is real backcountry work and we play by both the mountain’s rules and federal ones.
What We’re After:
• Grit: You’ll be in the saddle 20+ miles a day, training green horses and mules through terrain that’ll test your balance, nerve, and patience.
• No Drama: We run a tight camp. Respect is non-negotiable—for the team, the stock, and the mission.
• Work Ethic: Besides ridin’, expect to pack gear, dig latrines, fix fence, and haul supplies. You do what needs doin’.
• Team Player: You don’t have to be best pals with everyone, but you do need to work with ‘em without gripe or fuss.
• Follow-Through: When we say “saddle up,” you don’t hesitate. When we say “hold back,” you listen.
The Job:
• Dates: Mid-June to mid-September (a little wiggle room on either end).
• Location: Off-grid camp in Wyoming. No cell signal. No facilities. Just mountains.
• Food and lodging included.
• Got shoeing skills or packing experience? That’s worth extra coin.
What You’ll Gain:
You’ll ride green stock in true wilderness, sharpen your instincts, and learn what no barn or clinic can teach. You’ll finish with a full wallet, thick skin, and stories no one will believe.
What We’re Looking For in You:
• Solid riding and horse handling skills (mule experience is a bonus).
• Experience with green/problem horses preferred.
• Willingness to live simply, work hard, and learn fast.
• Good attitude, solid communication, and commitment to safety.
• Must be 18+, physically capable of long days on the trail, and legally able to work in the U.S.
