I am putting in a tuffys bucket order hopefully this week. Tuffys buckets are exactly that, tuff as all heck, also with a 5 year warranty 😊 there are heaps of colours, and I will spread postage between everyones orders to keep it nice and cheap for everyone.

I'm just finding out what date I need orders in by and will update the post when I know. Payment needs to be made with order. I no longer will order without payment after too many stuffing me about...

This day last year was Woofies last day with me.

He was a great big brother to Tid. Look how teeny she was!

We have lost a lot of our best friends over the last year or so. They were all bloody amazing doggies, I think they will all be up there together playing ball, up to their silly antics, and watching over us.

So lucky are we to experience the love and treasured memories with our special friends ❤️❤️

I see a lot of people loop the lead rope around their hands.

Please, please don't do this!

If your horse gets a fright and pulls away or bolts...

Best case scenario you will get some rope burn.

Worst case scenario you will lose the skin of fingers, or lose the finger, or the rope will tighten and you will get dragged!

Obviously there are other things that can happen as well.

Just don't do it. It's not worth it!

Instead.

Fold the rope back over itself and hold it in the middle.

It allows you to siphon the rope through when you need more or less.

And it keeps your hands and arms SAFE!

You may wonder why we pull back into the syringe when giving injections in the vein. This picture explains why. We don't pull back to make sure we're in the vessel, we do it to make sure we're in the RIGHT vessel. Today I went to give an injection and pulled back and saw blood brighter than I wanted. I decided to go and get a new dose of sedation and once again pulled back and then gave my dose of sedation. The syringe on the left was my first injection and the syringe on the right was my second injection. Does anyone know why I shouldn't have injected that first syringe? And had I injected that first injection, what would have happened?

This is the other paddock where I took these photos last week. Since then it has shot up and Daisy has to bounce around like Tigger to get through. It's hilarious.

Have started putting my little paddock paradise system up for maximum movement in a small area. It's tricky when it's a small space but it's doable.

There are 3 levels of grass here.

Can you see the difference between what has been spelled, what's had intermittent grazing and what's had constant grazing?

What length grass do you think would be better for horses? As well as keeping the paddock/soil healthy?

Since tweaking my paddock management and only having smaller areas constantly grazed, the pieces that have had grass coverage are bouncing back quicker and aren't rock hard and dry.

In another paddock, the pony was shut off from most of it, but because it was grazed to nothing before, when it rained and the grass started coming up, so did the weeds, so we went over the weeds with the ride on, which allowed the grass to take over rather than using poison.

There are only a few little patches of weeds that need to be sorted now which is great, considering the amount that came up when it rained.

Now to add ponies back in and see if my management strategies continue to improve the paddocks health.

2IC Daisy taking her supervisory role very seriously, making sure Jack eats his dinner.

Jack decided that the green grass coming up was much nicer than his hard feed and wasted 2 feeds in a row, so to remedy that and get his supps into him, his hay has been reduced a bit and he has gone back to 2 small feeds a day for now, and Aunty Sam has waited until said feed is finished before topping up his hay. Today he licked his bucket 😁

When environmental factors change sometimes you have to tweak your management for the horses benefit because they often make bad decisions when it comes to their health and wellbeing. It would be great if they made better choices, but then we would have nothing to do 😂

2024, it's reinvention time!

Welcome to my new and improved business and page, Ever Equine, formerly Freedom Equine.

I was heading off on an adventure but ended up staying put, BUT won't be trimming anymore hooves, that ship has finally sailed for good.

I will still offer learn to trim lessons 😁 if anyone is keen to learn!

I was going to stop making the Hooffing Brilliant Spray, but will continue with that because it's good s**t.

Will be offering local training and bodywork.
