Meet Indi ❤️

Indi is Shaz’s beautiful Galah, who came in to see us after her leg ring started causing a few issues and making her uncomfortable.

Shaz first connected with Lennon from Toowoomba Birds while they were helping search for her friend’s lost bird, so when Indi needed a bit of practical bird help, Lennon pointed her in our direction.

Our team was able to remove Indi’s leg ring quickly, and she was much more comfortable afterwards - which is exactly what we like to see.

Shaz was so grateful that she made a generous purchase of bird supplies to donate to Toowoomba Birds, helping support birds in care while also supporting our local, family-owned business.

A very sweet full-circle moment from one local bird person to another 🐦

These little mice are currently available in our Toowoomba store, and honestly… good luck choosing just one or two.

You walk in thinking, “I’ll just have a quick look,” and suddenly you’re emotionally attached to an entire tiny sleepover committee. Very dangerous. Very fluffy. Very much a problem for anyone with self-control (Like every one of our staff members 😅).

Silk-style aquarium plants are back in store, and they’re perfect for giving your tank that full, leafy look without needing lights, fertiliser, trimming, or the emotional damage of watching another plant melt into sad aquarium soup.

They’re handy for adding:

🐟 Cover for fish to hide and feel secure

🪴 An easy tank glow-up without the maintenance

You can use taller plants toward the back, smaller ones toward the front, and mix colours/textures to make the tank feel fuller without accidentally signing up for an underwater gardening hobby.

Bored birds are basically chaos gremlins with bolt cutters attached to their face.

Bird toys aren’t just cute cage decorations - they give birds something (other than yoyr furniture) to chew, climb, shred, explore and investigate.

Different toys can serve different purposes:
🪵 Chew toys help keep busy beaks occupied
🧩 Foraging toys encourage birds to work for treats and use their brain
🪜 Climbing toys add movement and activity
🔔 Noisy toys are for birds who believe the whole house should be involved
🌿 Shredding toys are perfect for birds who enjoy interior design… aggressively

Rotating toys regularly can also help keep things interesting, because apparently some birds like novelty and drama. Very relatable.
