π Temporary Closure- Update π
- correction: sorry guys the date on the image is wrong and is meant to say the 29th π
It is with sadness we can now announce publicly the reasons behind our sudden closure the past few weeks. If you have noticed our sudden absence this is due to the sudden and unexpected loss of two of our own, Natalie and Ana only months apart. Both very dear friends and cherished volunteers with us here at M.A.D Exotics & Reptile Care. Many of you had the pleasure of meeting of talking to both over the past few years.
It has taken some time to be able to publicly speak on this due to formality and private reasons. This loss has left a very large hole in our hearts and minds. As much as I had also tried to maintain operations following their passing this became increasingly difficult with the added impact of Cyclone Alfred causing substantial property damage to us here and further displacing operations.
We made the decision to temporarily close 3 weeks ago on the wake of Alfred leaving us with no power or telecommunications. Repairs are ongoing and not estimated to be completed until the 29th May. For some reason the planned post to our page did not stay posted as a notified.
For this reason we will remain temporarily closed until the 29th May. During this time we will also be adding extra volunteer roles and likely paid positions. Please bare with is during this process and it is a difficult thing to fill two cherished peices of our team.
To those who have been trying unsuccessfully to reach us, sincere apologies our telephones is currently off. And our inbox is only checked every few days currently until we return to full power and telecommunications.
Wildlife intakes are still available via veterinary clinics. Vets we network with have my personal number to use freely until we re-open. We are full for birds however. Reptiles plenty of space as always.
Much love and thanks to those that have silently carried us in the background the past few weeks with insect feeds, rats/mice, driving, volunteering and a friendly ear and hugs.
