REEF 🌊🩷

Born on Australia Day and named after our beautiful Great Barrier Reef 🇦🇺🌊 Reef is one of the younger members of the Harlequin Hounds family and THE ONLY female our Spyro & Luna bloodlines.

She’s curious, sweet, full of personality and always looking to please 😂
Reef also attends some dog sports 🥏 and absolutely loves all adventures ! ✨

Small but mighty ! We can’t wait to see what her first litter will look like in the future 🤍

Meet Nala 🐯✨

(Naleeeee nuuuu nuuuu)

Nala is our gorgeous chocolate-based clear cream smooth coat Miniature Dachshund, and she’s one of those girls who just draws attention !

She has a confident nature, and is the perfect amount of sweet and spice! Nala has easy-going personality that makes her an absolute pleasure to have as part of our pack 🥹

Nala is also a wonderful mum. She takes motherhood in her stride and is so patient and nurturing with her babies, the traits we absolutely adore seeing passed down through her puppies 🤍

She may look like a little princess, but this lady is a golden QUEEN ! full of personality, always ready to be involved in and never a dull moment 😂

We’re so lucky to have our beautiful Nala as part of the Harlequin Hounds family 🤍 🐾

✨ MEET THE PACK MONDAY ✨

Meet Raya 🤍 🐾

Our beautiful Isabella & Tan girl and quite possibly the cheekiest member of the pack 😂

Raya is silly, sweet, incredibly unique and just an all-round amazing dog. She’s got the funniest little personality and somehow manages to make us laugh every single day.

She’s also one of our beautiful foundation females and has blessed us with some pretty special babies along the way - even though she was only to bless us with 1 litter.

We are so lucky to have her daughter who is just as much a unicorn as she is! 🦄 🥹

Today’s Puppy School looked a little different… 🐾🤍

Our newest little students have officially started their social training!

One of the biggest misconceptions about socialisation is that puppies need to meet and play with every dog they see. In reality, safe socialisation is about learning to be calm and confident around the world, not saying hello to everyone.

Today, our own litter of dachshund puppies watched the class from the safety of their own crate.
From here they could:

🐶 See other dogs
✨Hear new sounds
🐽 Smell their surroundings
🫶🏼Feel safe and secure in their own space

There was no direct contact with unfamiliar dogs or people, preventing overwhelming experiences during this important developmental stage.

By rewarding calm behaviours and allowing the puppies to simply observe, they’re learning that other dogs and people are just a normal part of life and not something they need to rush towards or become worried about.

This foundation helps build puppies who can confidently relax in cafés, at sporting events, at the vet, or out on walks, instead of believing every dog or person is an invitation to interact.

Sometimes, the best socialisation is simply watching the world go by. 🩷

Calm is a skill and it’s one of the most valuable skills we can teach our puppies. 🐾

🖤 MEET THE PACK MONDAY 🖤

Meet Luna 🌙

(Lunatic, Looney Tunes, Bubba Uuuuniiieeee)

Luna has blessed us with two beautiful litters. During her second litter, complications meant an emergency C-section, and we made the decision to retire her from our breeding program. It was in fact an easy choice as her health and happiness will always come first for any of our dogs.

That final litter was truly worth the wait, giving us her ONLY female and the future of our breeding program (Reef) 💕

Don’t let her size fool you! Luna is tiny but fearless! She’s always up for an adventure, especially if it involves water. Whether she’s exploring somewhere new in our tinny or splashing around on our property dams she tackles life with confidence and enthusiasm.

She may be retired from motherhood, but she’s still living her best life as a much loved member of our pack 🤍
