NSW, it’s time to get pets on board trains and the metro 🐾🚊

In 2024, our Pawtition received over 22,000 signatures. It was tabled in NSW Parliament and Transport for NSW was asked to develop a consultation plan for a limited trial, but we never heard anything further.

So we’re backing PupDates s new petition calling on the NSW Government to trial a pet-friendly carriage on every NSW train and Metro service for two years.

Under the proposed trial, dogs would be required to stay on a lead or in an approved carrier, assistance animals would be protected, and standards for behaviour, cleanliness and owner responsibility would apply. Disruptive animals or owners could be removed, and the trial would be formally reviewed before any permanent change.
