With foaling season fast approaching this is a timely reminder of the importance of proper hoof care in foals.

Having your farrier trim your foal at 3-4 weeks of age will:

🐴 Allow your farrier to identify potential hoof abnormalities and implement corrective measures where necessary.

🐴 Desensitise your foals to having their hooves handled.

We can’t wait to see some adorable little ones this coming season and wish you all the best of luck with your breeding endeavours.

I hope you all enjoyed your Anzac day weekend recognising all military men and women past and present.

Farriers were in great demand during world war one when horses were the main form of transport specifically within the Australian Light Horse brigade.

These unsung heroes often fought as light horsemen with the added role of blacksmithing and farriery. Without sound horses on the rough terrain in Egypt and Turkey the light horse would never of been.

We will remember them, lest we forget.

I hope that everyone is keeping healthy, happy and sane during these challenging times of social distancing and self isolation!

In order to ensure the safety of all of my wonderful clients, my family and myself I have put a few measures in place to minimise the risk of transmission of any airborne disease but specifically Covid-19.

-I ask that clients who wish to pay with cash could please place such in a snap-lock bag provided by myself.

-Tethering horses where/when possible. Dependent on the horse in question (they aren't all happy to oblige😂).

-Use of disinfectant type spray on all tools etc.

-Thorough hand washing between clients.
