Re TC Albert closures:

**UPDATE - OPEN TUESDAY 11th March**

We'll open as soon as possible. We are currently without power and staff are being affected by flooding. We were hoping to reopen today (Monday) but the weather has other plans

In order to keep our staff, clients & patients safe during this wild weather we will be closing from midday today.

CLOSED - Wednesday midday onwards
CLOSED - Thursday

Our clinics & emergency centres are currently being overwhelmed. Please limit calls & visits to genuine emergencies only (ie not the itchy ear that's been going on for the last week).

'HomeSafeID' microchip data registry will soon be going offline. If your pet's details are registered with HomeSafeID, your contact details will no longer be viewable when their microchip number is searched. If you know your pet is registered with HomeSafeID you will need to re-register them with another company.

Visit www.petaddress.com.au to find out which database your pet's microchip details are stored with & follow the links to confirm details are up to date (including address & mobile number).

If you need to re-register with a new company, we recommend:
- Australasian Animal Registry: www.aar.org.au

If you are unsure as to what your pet's microchip number is; pop in to your nearest Veterinary Clinic for your pet to be scanned.

This afternoon we said goodbye to our beautiful cheeky boy Dash.

Sadly Dash developed a cardiac condition months ago and despite doing well on medication we were informed yesterday by a specialist ultrasonographer that his heart had worsened considerably and his future was very bleak.

Thankyou 🙏 to all our wonderful clients who stopped to give him a pat, were patient with him sitting in the middle of the front doorway or walking across the front counter to get attention. And to the couriers who had to deal with him being underfoot and even jumping in their vans!

Dash made everyone smile and was a bit of a dude, always doing things his way and stealing staff lunches. We've shed more than a few tears already and will miss him dearly ❤️

Tick season is in full swing!

A reminder to check your fur babies for ticks each day and ensure your tick prevention is given on time.

The yearly tick injection Bravecto Quantum is now available for dogs, or Bravecto & Nexgard Spectra are suitable for both cats and dogs.

Darling boy Archie was admitted & treated last night for tick paralysis and unfortunately had to have a haircut and Bravecto Plus today to ensure there weren't any others hiding in his beautiful coat. We still think he's handsome ❤️

These ticks have been removed from patients in the last 2 weeks

During summer higher humidity and activities like swimming can predispose your dog to developing an ear infection, also known as Otitis Externa.

Common signs of an infection:
- Red ears
- Shaking their head
- Scratching their ears 🐾
- Ears may sometimes smell
- In severe cases, pain or vocalising when the ear is touched ⚡
