Delilah the chicken....

Delilah presented to us with a crop impaction. Dr Tori performed an Ingluviotomy (surgical opening of the crop) to remove the impacted material.

Delilah has recovered well and is back to her normal self 🐔

If you encounter a young bird on the ground your first instinct may be to rescue it. The chances are, however, is that you are witnessing perfectly normal behaviour and the parents are nearby.

If you remove the bird from the area it may be separated from its family for no good reason!

If in immediate danger (eg on the road) place the baby bird in a safe place close by so the parents can find it.

OWNER FOUND - thank you for your help ❤️

URGENT, if anyone is missing a female Jack russel/fox terrier please contact the clinic immediately.

We have had a member of the public hand in a hit by car dog needing medical attention. No microchip or collar is available to identify owners.

She was found on the Terang-Cobden road, just past the bridge.

She is currently receiving emergency care at the clinic.

Veterinary Nurse and Technician week allows us to thank the people that do a lot of hard work behind the scenes 🌼

You may not know but our nurses and techs do many things; monitoring anaesthetics, collecting and processing blood samples, assisting with diagnostic imaging and dental cleanings....the list is endless!

Dr Tori did an amazing job, the cow with the stick injury into her abdominal cavity has had a great recovery and had a healthy calf 16 days after her incident.
