Update 🐴

A little update on a special patient we first shared back in October 2025.

This filly came to Tamworth Equine Veterinary Centre at just three days old after the loss of her mum. She needed some extra support with feeding while our team worked to arrange a foster mare. Thankfully, she found a wonderful foster mum who patiently accepted her, giving her the best possible start after a difficult beginning.

Dr Matt Kelly recently had the chance to visit her again and was thrilled to see just how much she has grown. From a tiny orphan foal to a beautiful filly. It’s always incredibly rewarding to see these stories come full circle!

Happy National Farrier Week! 🐴🔨

This week, we recognise all farriers for the invaluable role they play in supporting equine health and performance.

We are proud to work alongside our Consultant Farriers, Link Baumann and Garrett Newton. By combining their farriery expertise with the knowledge of our veterinary team, we can develop tailored hoof care and lameness management plans that give every horse the best opportunity for a successful outcome.

Tamworth Equine Veterinary Centre is a full service equine hospital located in Tamworth, the heart of the New South Wales north west Pleasure and Performance Horse region. The practice offers a comprehensive Ambulatory service, Reproduction service, and Sports Medicine service to our equine clients in the region.

The Role 🖥️
We currently have an exciting new position available in our Customer Service team. The role will be front of house in our Reception area, where you will play an important part of liaising with both our Clients and our Veterinary team. This position is a 4 day week including a Tuesday and Friday with flexibility around the other two days.

Skills and Experience
❇️ Customer Focus (external and internal)

Congratulations to Jess Wickham on the successful rehabilitation of 'Chilli', who sustained an injury to her tendon.

Chilli underwent a graduated strength and exercise program with additional therapy including shockwave prescribed by Dr Brodie Argue. Since return to performance, Chilli has won two campdrafts.

We look forward to following their success in the arena! 🤩

Some familiar faces from the TEVC team who were heavily involved in the 2 Day Vet Farrier Symposium hosted by EPLC on the weekend. Master of Ceremonies, presenting lectures, contributing to the practical workshops and sharing their time and knowledge. The key objective of this symposium was to strengthen the collaboration between veterinarians and farriers through shared learning and open discussion. Thank you Sam Morley, Brodie Argue, Link Baumann, George Hunt and Garrett Newton.
