2021 challenged us to find balance between our bunny responsibilities and our family life. As a result we’ve focused on continuing great care of our bunnies and educating new families, whilst simplifying our boarding service and online shop.

2022 provides an opportunity for us to continue sharing knowledge. We’re excited to meet new families beginning their bunny journeys, and equally keen to stay connected with families who have adopted through us recently and in the years gone by.

Thank you to everyone who adopted in 2021. You are all amazing bunny parents and we thank you for your comprehensive preparation, your interest to seek information and learn, and for providing loving homes for our babies to live their best lives.

All the best to everyone for the year ahead.

Video of Bambi giving birth.

The footage is raw, and contains blood, the birthing process and placenta consumption.

2 weeks ago I had the privilege of witnessing Bambi give birth. Bambi let me stay nearby and watch, demonstrating the trust we’ve built with each other over the past 5 years. Typically rabbits will conceal the birthing process, kindling at night or early morning. They may even hold off kindling until their environment is entirely safe, with no humans nearby.

Bambi had 6 kits and all were alive at birth. 1 was born underdeveloped and within the amniotic sac however. Bambi ruptured the sac shortly after birth, but sadly baby passed 10 minutes later. This was to be expected due to her/his underdevelopment.

The video shows Bambi birthing, eating placenta, and the babies taking their first breaths. The video may be confronting for some, however the way the process unfolded was typical of a healthy birthing process for rabbits. Bambi did an amazing job helping her babies begin their journeys, as she has done so on many occasions over the years.
