The faith that a Guinea pig puts in its hooman to feed it and keep it warm. This little single Texel gal had a rough start with mum not having any milk. It was a day or two before I realised and it was touch and go for a few days and nights, getting enough milk into her and keeping her warm. She would snuggle up into the palm of my hand, and slowly she stopped shivering even though we have heatwave conditions! I brought mum inside as backup heat pad. First time mum she really didn’t have much of a clue either but slowly started accepting the Bub.

These girls thought they had a home for Christmas but unfortunately it fell through. These girls would love a chance to be a member of your family 💖

Gucci Girl and Charlotte have retired from breeding and are an incredibly bonded pair. They would be fine in a herd environment with other cavies or together as a single pair. They’re very calm being handled and love interaction so would be perfect for children, with adult supervision of course!

Guinea pigs can be a great Christmas present or present in general. They are a pet that is quite economical when compared to a dog or cat. They don’t need a huge amount of space, recommended cage sizes are 120x60cm for a pair (and you can always go bigger)! The more you interact with your cavies the bolder and friendlier they will be 💖 please remember they can live between 4-7+ years so they are a commitment like any other pet!

Lastly, please support an ethical registered ANCC cavy breeder or registered cavy rescue when seeking to add new members to your family. So much of a guinea pig’s health and temperament depends on their genetics and lineage. By supporting registered ethical breeders, you are also ensuring your new family members are set up for success whilst supporting breed and genetic preservation in Australia. Please adopt or shop responsibly when adding a new member to your family.

Brindles! Still a long way off from being up to standard but each breed brings more intermittent hairs and less patches.

The larger Boar in the right pic is named Jokes aside. Now don’t get me wrong I love a good challenge but this guy came out of a Red Dalmatian litter. Go figure! Not one white hair in sight and for all I know those red hairs a spots!

Just for fun - 🤩 I ordered a double hide off Temu which was a little flimsy in its making. Cavies could have been squished and suffocated - so I set out to strengthen with some plastic pieces inserted to help keep the dome up. I then thought - arghh I don’t want to be picking out bits of wood shavings from the bottom so found a long planter box, cut some holes and added a ramp, prettied it with some wall paper panels, velco’d the tunnel on top and there you have it. Not recommended for large heavily pregnant sows lol 😂- actually better for young weaned bubs to play around on.

Now I’m settled and updated my details - I am now out in the Central West near Dubbo. Absolutely love living out west. A different sunset every evening. I am currently working on Red Dalmatian, Tortoiseshells and Brindles in Marked, Lilac and Reds in Self and Texel & Merino in Longhairs. Glad to be focused again
