🐾 Meet Priscilla - Veterinary Nurse 🐾

Priscilla found her calling in animal care after secretly fostering two stray kittens in her dorm room - a month that convinced her to change career paths and never look back. She loves the fulfilling mix of hands-on medicine and client care: preventing and treating illnesses, supporting owners, and helping strengthen the special bond between people and their pets.

At home, Priscilla shares her life with Blinx, a blind cat she fell in love with when Blinx arrived as a 5-week-old stray. Now confident navigating the house, Blinx even enjoys harness walks, curiosity and all.

When she’s not at the clinic, Priscilla is happiest outdoors - climbing, hiking, running, scuba diving, snorkeling, or soaking up sunshine at the beach. If she could be any animal, she says she’d be a seal: playful, water-loving, and able to sunbake all day.

🚨 𝐑𝐇𝐃𝐕𝟏-𝐊𝟓 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 – 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 🚨

Rabbit owners, this one’s important 🐰
The NSW Government has confirmed another RHDV1-K5 (rabbit calicivirus) release, scheduled for early March 2026 in NSW.

This virus spreads easily in the environment and can sadly be fatal for pet rabbits, so we want to help bunny owners prepare and protect their pets.

💉 Vaccination is the most important protection!
Rabbits can be vaccinated from 10 weeks of age, and vaccination should be up to date before February 2026. If you’re unsure whether your bunny is covered, we’re happy to check.

Extra ways to help protect your rabbit:
🐰 Keep rabbits indoors during this period where possible
🐰 If outdoors, avoid sunrise and sunset when insects are most active
🐰 Use fly or insect mesh on hutches and enclosures
🐰 Wash hands before and after handling rabbits
🐰 Change shoes and clothing after being outdoors or near wild rabbits
🐰 Source hay and grass from areas not accessed by wild rabbits

Unfortunately, there is no treatment once a rabbit becomes infected, which is why prevention is so important 💔

While fireworks are fun for us, they can be frightening and overwhelming for pets 🐾With fireworks expected tonight, here are some simple ways to help keep your pets calm and safe.

Tips to protect your pets:
🐶🐱 Keep pets indoors and in a quiet, secure room
🐾 Close windows and curtains to reduce noise and flashing lights
🎶 Play soft music or white noise to help mask sudden sounds
🛏️ Provide a cosy hiding place where your pet feels safe
🏷️ Make sure ID tags and microchip details are up to date
🚪 Keep doors and gates securely closed to prevent escapes

If your pet is particularly anxious, speak to us about calming strategies or short-term medication options - planning ahead makes a big difference.

🐾😸Meet Max - Clinic Cat & Chief Supervisor 😺🐾

Max is Nimble Vets' resident feline and official greeter, having followed some of our nurses from their previous clinic - because where his favourite people go, Max goes too.

A friendly and affectionate presence around the hospital, Max takes his role seriously. Whether he's welcoming clients at the door, supervising the team to ensure everything runs smoothly, or quality-testing the comfort of every available napping spot, Max is always on duty (when he's not snoozing, that is).

Max's true passion in life? Food. He's never met a meal - or snack, or treat - he didn't love, and he's more than happy to remind the team when it's time to eat. Between his busy schedule of chin scratches, belly rubs, and coordinating clinic morale, Max has become an irreplaceable member of the Nimble Vets family.

If you visit us, don't be surprised if Max saunters over to say hello. He's always ready to offer a purr, a head bump, or simply some quiet companionship while you wait.💙
