Kissy and Missy are being adopted! The lovely Aolifu Qi Chen Yu is going to love them to pieces!
I’m so happy for them. They really are adorable girls.

Kissy’s other two children, Milk and Rocky, went from being long term boarders to available for adoption yesterday. My heart breaks for their mum, who has done everything she can to keep them safe until she can move back to Sydney. Unfortunately, that’s not going to be for a while and she’s made the difficult decision to surrender them. We’ve got to wait a few days until we’re sure Milk’s URI is better and then the boys will be on the lookout for a new home.

We got some fabulous news yesterday…Kissy and Missy are being adopted!

Their new human can’t wait to come and get them, so they’re leaving tonight! They’re going to a fabulous home, where they will be absolutely adored.

I’m so happy for this beautiful mum and daughter pair. They’re Misti’s sister and niece, so I’ve got a real soft spot for them.

I’m sure it’ll be hard for Rocky and Milk to see their mum and sister leave. Lots of extra snuggles for them.

Misti couldn’t care less about her relatives and is glad that two of them are finally going!🤣🤣

It’s been a busy couple of weeks!

Nelly developed an upset stomach and bloat (in the middle of the night, of course!), new foster boy Milk had a respiratory infection and Misti’s having surgery tomorrow for her ovarian cyst.

To be on the safe side, we had to relocate all the piggies to different rooms, away from Mr Sneezy (Milk), so I’ve had guinea pigs in every room. 😩Misti’s surgery was delayed by a week, to make sure she hadn’t caught it and I’ve spent a lot of time looking after Nelly.

Thankfully, things are settling down. Misti should be ok in a few days. Nelly is on the mend and little Milk is all better😍.

Yesterday Dandelion went home with Varkie for a trial run. Fingers crossed they continue to be friends.

Milk and Rocky arrived. They’re staying for a few months, while their human is overseas. Let’s just say that these all night party piggies made their presence felt and heard! 🤣

Dudley and Daisy stayed in their pigloos and ignored the commotion.

Queen Emily celebrated her five year adoptionversary with a lettuce and crowns themed party. All the piggies got a cupcake!

This morning they all went outside to get some grass for a while and are now napping peacefully. ❤️

Such a busy day today!

Varkie is here for the afternoon, to see if he gets on with foster boy, Dandelion. I’d love to see Dandelion find a home, so fingers crossed!

Regular guests Dudley and Daisy are coming to stay for a few days.

Milk and Rocky are going to be boarding with me for two or three months, as their family has to go overseas for a while.

As for me, I’ve got a lot of piggy laundry and cage setting up to get on with!

Welcome back, Sir Percival and Sir Orville (Percy and Oreo)!

After fostering these two beautiful boys for a few months, it’s wonderful that they make regular trips back to see me, while their humans are on holiday.

They’ve been here for five minutes and have already given me a cuddle, explored their cage and tucked into some treats.

Milk, did you have to burst your huge cyst a few hours before you went home?!

Don’t worry, it looks worse than it is.

Sweet little Milk has seen a vet about his lumps and was advised they could be left alone for the time being. Unfortunately, he didn’t agree! He decided to pop it!

The poor boy had to put up with me cleaning it out and disinfecting it. I’ve never seen so much pus in all my life!

Luckily I had some Meloxicam, as one of my piggies takes it, so I could give him some pain relief and his dad is taking him to the vet tomorrow. I’m sure that’s not what his family want when they’re jet lagged from their trip, but little Milk is worth it!

Yesterday, Nelly joined our little family on a permanent basis🤩.

She’s had a bit of a difficult life, but she’s really settled down and enjoyed hanging out in the foster room over the past two months, being a reassuring aunty to the new arrivals.

I think she’ll do a wonderful job of helping me look after the boarding and foster piggies, as well as being a companion for my beautiful Misti.

So I did something yesterday.

I adopted Nelly.

It’s been on my mind for a while. She finds it hard to be in a cage with other female piggies. She’s got a bit of a history of freaking out and hurting, or upsetting, potential new friends.

As a middle aged piggy, approaching her expensive years, the chances of a desexed male AND a family willing to adopt a piggy of her age coming along are minimal.

However, she likes being in a cage near Misti (they ignore each other but can chat if they want) and she loves being in the foster room with the new arrivals.

I think she will give Misti the friendship and space she needs, and will also love the role of aunty to the foster and boarding piggies.

Welcome to the family, Dame Nelly!

MILK AND COFFEE’S POSTCARD HOME

“Hello Dad,
We thought we’d drop you a line about what a fabulous time we’re having on holiday.
We’re enjoying the food. Hazel says we’re good little eaters! It rained this morning, so we couldn’t go outside, but yesterday we had a great time! In fact, we were having so much fun that we didn’t want to come in.
We are getting lots of attention from the girl guineas. They asked us how we keep our fur so beautiful and who our furdresser is. We are being good boys, but a little holiday flirting is fun!
Love,
Milk and Coffee.

I’ve had a very busy week and the foster room is a mess. Luckily, Nelly has come to my rescue.
She’s had a good look round and given me a big list of tasks!
