✨ Farewell & Thank You ✨

After 10 incredible years at Chatswood Vetfriends, the time has come for me to say goodbye and embark on a new chapter. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of this amazing team and to care for your beloved pets. From the tiniest kittens to the most senior companions, each furry friend (and their wonderful humans!) has left a lasting paw print on my heart.

What a journey it has been—from starting out as a work placement student to growing into the role of Practice Manager and leading an incredible team. The memories made, the challenges overcome, and the bonds formed over the years have meant the world to me. Whether it was comforting a nervous pup, celebrating your pet’s recovery, or sharing a bittersweet goodbye, every moment has shaped my journey in ways I will always cherish.

I am deeply grateful for the trust and kindness you have shown me and for allowing me to be part of your pets’ lives. Though I may be moving on, I know the team at Chatswood Vetfriends will continue to provide the exceptional care your pets deserve.

* 🐰Important Notice for Pet Rabbit Owners! 🐇*

Heads up, bunny parents! We've received notification from the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW about an upcoming RHDV1-K5 Wild Rabbit Control Program starting in March. This program will involve the release of Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV1-K5), a calicivirus strain, in the Greater Sydney Local Government Areas, including the Central Coast.

The release is scheduled for the first week of March 2025, and all rabbits, including our beloved pets, are susceptible. To ensure your furry friend is protected, it's crucial to make sure their vaccinations are up-to-date. If your rabbit isn't currently vaccinated, please schedule an appointment as soon as possible! Ideally, vaccinations should be completed before March 1st, 2025. 💉

🌟 Meet Our New Lead Veterinarian: Dr. Jade! 🌟

We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Jade, our new lead veterinarian, who is joining us with a wealth of experience and a heart full of passion for animal care! 🐾

Dr. Jade graduated from the University of Sydney in 2012 and has since honed her skills in emergency, exotics, and wildlife medicine. Her expertise spans a remarkable range of animals, including cats, dogs, small mammals (rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats), reptiles, birds, and even native wildlife. Her dedication to avian care is evident in her Avian membership qualifications. 🦜

Jade’s adventurous spirit shines through in both her professional and personal life. Having lived in Mexico, Colombia, and Morocco, she brings a rich tapestry of cultures and languages to our clinic. Her travels have taken her to remote corners of the world, from paddling down the Amazon River to working with endangered species like pandas in China, pangolins in Africa, and elephants in Asia. 🌍🦘

At home, Jade shares her space with three wonderful humans, a chocolate Burmese cat, and a shingleback lizard. Her deep love for felines, especially geriatric cats, drives her passion for managing chronic conditions such as renal failure, endocrine diseases, and arthritis. 🐱💖

Dr. Jade is also highly committed to nutrition and palliative care, always striving to enhance the quality of life for her patients. We’re incredibly excited to have her expertise and compassionate care at the heart of our clinic!
