We strain our honey only to remove natural wax particles — leaving behind all the goodness the bees created.

Unheated.
Unprocessed.
Exactly as it should be. 🐝

🐝 Fun fact: Raw honey contains natural enzymes, antioxidants, and trace pollen — gentle filtering removes wax, not the beneficial compounds.

Post-inspection traffic 🐝✨

A few extra bees outside, finding their way back in after a check — they get a little upset during inspections, but settle quickly and return to their calm, steady rhythm.

All part of healthy hive life.

🍯Honeycomb cut from the frames, lightly filtered to remove natural wax, and then jarred — just as nature intended.

🐝 Fun fact: Lightly filtering keeps pollen, enzymes and flavour intact — it only removes loose wax, not the good stuff.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about a hot knife gliding through fresh wax 🍯✨

🐝Fun fact: Bees cap honey with wax only when it’s fully ripened to the perfect moisture level.

Uncapping the frames is the first step in the honey harvest — smooth, golden, and worth every second.

The bees have been busy, the frames are filling, and our first honey harvest is here — from our Caucasian colony that was just a nuc less than three months ago. 🥰🐝

We must be doing something right, and it seems the girls are pretty happy in our suburban setting 💛
