Account 4545-02937 Operating since 2011, we are a co-operative of volunteer foster carers and passionate animal advocates, working together to achieve our shared vision. We have

a no-kill philosophy, with a focus on finding animals their forever homes through our Foster to Adopt Program. This program is key to our organisation’s success, as it rehabilitates our animals in preparation for their new life. We focus on:
- reducing the number of unwanted and abandoned animals through rehoming
community education
- desexing initiatives, and
- liaising with other welfare organisations

We do this with a direct purpose, which is working towards the introduction of new legislation to give greater protection to all animals. This also serves to provide further direction for other registered rescue organisations. Maggie’s Rescue cares for all our animals through our amazing network of foster carers. They provide a safe and nurturing home for animals in need until their forever home is found.

His body got the kelpie memo, his legs though…… not sure which playbook they’ve come out of 🤭. This pocket-sized Kelpie with a huge heart equal parts adventurer and snugglebug. Whether it’s road trips, beach days, or movie nights on the couch, he’s ready to fill your life with joy, laughter, and love. He’d suit a home with children aged 8 and over and has met both dogs and cats and wants nothing more than to be everyone’s friend! His loving, full-of-life approach can be a bit much for more reserved pets, so he’d pair best with other animals who enjoy his friendly energy.

🌊 Meet River — tiny but unstoppable! 🌊

She might’ve been the runt of her litter, but don’t tell her that — this pint-sized powerhouse is too busy running the show! River’s a fearless explorer, a sneaky pouncer, and a self-declared jungle cat (couches, tables, bookcases... all fair game).
Small but mighty, clever and cheeky, she’s got big cat energy in a fun-size body. One minute she’s scaling furniture like an Olympic climber, the next she’s snoozing mid-mission, dreaming up her next ambush.

She’s not just wild at heart though — River’s a total sweetheart who adores people, kids, and even the resident Labrador (first meeting = nose boop 💖).

🐾 Meet Superintendent Chalmers! 🐾

The perfect mix of sensible and silly, Superintendent Chalmers is that rare kitten who can switch from playtime chaos to thoughtful contemplation in a heartbeat 😌🎾 He’s always up for a game or a chase with his siblings — but only after he’s carefully assessed the situation (because a smart cat never rushes into anything).

True to his namesake, Chalmers has taken on a bit of an “authority figure” role — often stepping in to supervise when playtime gets too rowdy. (“Seymour!”) 😹 But don’t be fooled by the serious face — he’s an absolute sweetheart who adores cuddles and will happily melt into your arms when the fun’s over 💛
He’s the ultimate peacekeeper, the cleverest of boys, and a total lovebug who can’t wait to find his forever family 🥰

The sweetest little guy and, much like his namesake, a true mummy’s boy 💛 Principal Skinner is always looking for affection, approval, and a good snuggle — ideally while being carried around like the royal baby he knows he is 👑

He’ll love you forever and never even think about moving out of home (sorry, rent-free life suits him just fine). He’s the ultimate doting companion for life 🥰

Though not technically related to the rest of the “Simpsons Staff,” he joined the crew a few weeks later and fit right in like he’s been there all along — he’s got that “instant family” charm that’ll melt hearts in any home 💛

Happy 2nd birthday to our Remco aka Remi aka “the baby” aka bongo aka Remalad-Bing- B**g. Why so many nicknames? Well we’ve had a lot of time with him.

Remco came into foster on 24 June 2024 as a scared 7 month old pup who had never seen anything outside of the backyard he was born in. Since then he’s blossomed thanks to his foster carers and been shown just how much there is out there and how fun the world can be. Unfortunately though the one thing we haven’t been able to show him is a forever home 😢.

Gopher is a very sweet little Frenchie whose main goal in life is to become one with her humans. Gentle, loving, and happiest when she’s curled up against you. She’s crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night (with that signature content Frenchie snuffle snoring). On walks, Gopher loves greeting both people and dogs. She’s still learning her basic commands since she didn’t have much training before coming into care, but she’s eager to please and far from naughty. Gopher would thrive in either an apartment or a house with access to AC which is essential for our flat faced friends. She settles well when left alone though being a love bug would prefer a family around as often as possible. Gopher is great with both children and adults but can be a bit timid, so she’d do best with calm, respectful kids rather than very boisterous ones.

Maggie’s Rescue

Maggie's Rescue is a NFP, No Kill animal rescue group based in Marrickville in the Inner West of Sydney. We are a co-operative of carers, who are all committed to our mission, which is to save and re-home abandoned and at risk animals, initially into a warm and loving foster home until we are able to find their perfect adoptive home. 🐶🐱

Our vision is that we do this with compassion, honesty and support to all our foster carers, volunteers, adopters and the greater community.

If you are able to offer a safe home to an animal in need or if you are interested in becoming a foster carer, then you will be rewarded with lots of affection and loyalty, and a love which is unconditional and furry!

All of our rescued animal leave our care vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, de-sexed, flea and worm treated.
