So, for anyone who follows along on our business page, I try to keep things pretty positive and don’t post too often but today, I witnessed something that made me shake my head and also just feel terribly sad. Nothing new.. but in this day and age, I cant believe it is still happening.
Today in our area, it was roughly 36 degrees.
I have seen a post where someone tested the temp of the road outside in the sun and it came to 68 degrees. Also, I popped outside my house at one stage to talk to a neighbour today and in the 10m dash I did from the front lawn to my front door, jogging and quickstepping, I BURNT my feet! Not badly, but it took 2hrs for the sting to disappear without treatment.
Now, imagine my surprise, when I ducked out for an emergency house visit, finding a local walking his oodle down the road in the blistering sun. No grass, no shade, just the hot footpath and the panting dog.
Please please please. I know this is not a new topic but I’m going to reiterate it.. please don’t walk your dogs on days like today during the daylight hours. Maybe not even just after sunset. Wait til the sun has well and truly gone down and always test the concrete with your own shoeless feet.
I could’ve smacked this guy over the head head with his own shoes and made him stand barefooted on the footpath.
C’mon people. The pet care standards of this country need amending. This should be a fineable offence. It just saddens me and infuriates me that someone could do that to their dog. If you absolutely have to go for a walk, find a cool, shady, grass lined park and walk through that… carry plenty of water, put shoes on your dogs, whatever you need to do to ensure their safety. Dont make them suffer your stupidity.
Meanwhile, our crew enjoyed, pool dips, aircon and indoor play. Comfort and safety is always the most important thing.
