The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be using fox baits containing 1080 poison between 1st August 2025 and 31st January 2026.
The baits will be laid in
🐾Garigal National Park
🐾Lane Cove National Park
🐾Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park
🐾Sydney Harbour National Park - North Head including Q station, Dobroyd Head, Chowder Head & Bradleys Head managed by NPWS
🐾The North Head Sanctuary
🐾The Australian Institute of Police Management, North Head
❌Do not touch baits or ejectors ❌
If you suspect your pet has ingested a bait, please seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Do not wait for signs to appear.
Clinical signs are rapid in onset and include:
❗️frenzied behaviour such as howling and running
❗️hypersensitivity to light and sound
❗️failure to respond to owner
❗️vomiting
❗️urinating and defecating uncontrollably
❗️convulsions
❗️difficulty breathing
❗️coma
❗️death
Prevention is better than treatment.
Please keep pets out of National Parks.
