Impounding lost, stray and surrendered companion animals for the city councils of Hawkesbury, Penrith, The Hills, Cumberland and Hornsby NSW.

In NSW, council impound facilities house lost pets for a set time in order that they be reclaimed by owners. All NSW Pounds work under the time allowed by law and the Companion Animals Act NSW.

Today, we pause to honour the remarkable life of a very special soul – Honey, a proud ex-Hawkesbury Poundie who recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the incredible age of 16 and a half years old.

Adopted in December 2008, Honey spent over 16 beautiful years with her forever family, who adored her deeply. In true Honey fashion, she ruled the roost with sass, spark, and a whole lot of cattitude. She was feisty, fierce, bossy, and brilliantly sassy – a personality larger than life, and a presence that filled every room.

Honey didn’t just live, she reigned. Whether she was commanding attention, demanding snacks, or simply choosing the warmest sunbeam for her royal naps, Honey lived every day on her terms. And she loved for every single bit of it.

To Honey’s family: thank you for giving her the life every rescue animal dreams of – a life of love, dignity, and devotion. Your care gave her the chance to grow old with grace, and your hearts gave her a place to call home.

"Friends of Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter" was created by volunteers who are passionate about the rescue and rehoming of companion animals in the community. Over the years our roles have evolved and so have our photo's ( have you seen way back 7 years ago ha! ) we still hold the same passion for animals now as we did then and have helped many thousands of pets find their Forever Home.
