Tribute to knowing a beautiful little dog NARLAH and my heart is shattered as you are no longer alive 💔. SO SO SORRY
I write this post not for sympathy but as a learning tool for people that take on older dogs in their lives can be such a beautiful experience if it is done write.
Narlah loved everyone and went to her new home to beautiful people but unfortunately they never followed the protocol i suggested leading to an untimely accident taking her life . In less than 24 hours of her being with them.
This is not to ridicule the people at all as they are devastated as well.
The lesson for all people taking on a older dog from a breeder / pound or anywhere PLEASE PLEASE, for the dogs sake forget your own ideas of what you think you know so the dog can have the best chance of a life with you.
DONT
LEAVE THE NEW HOME FOR AT LEAST 3 WEEKS
(it takes 2 weeks for a dog to feel like a place is home time to adjust is crucial )
DONT THINK THE DOGS MOVED IN BECAUSE IT IS SHOWING YOU AFFECTION.
(a dog needs time to feel truly safe and think it is at home)
DONT THINK BECAUSE A DOG IS TRAINED IT CANT BE SCARED OF NEW THINGS.
(a dog can be easily stressed and not show out ward fear until situation arrives that tips them over the edge and there safety bubble is no longer there )
THINGS TO REMEMBER
Dogs will panic in or with people they hardly know
If let off lead can flee in fear and get run over even if they had car sence prior.
No dog is truly your dog until it gets to know you your home and your area and this TAKES TIME so please do what is required for the dogs sake not your own understanding or you will be responsible for the heart renching consequences.
SORRY NARLAH I FAILED YOU 😭 💔💔💔💔
