🐶 It’s Dog Anxiety Awareness Week! 💭

Just like us, our pups can feel a little ruff sometimes!

Common signs your dog might be feeling anxious:

😰 Lots of panting or drooling (and it’s not hot!)
🚶‍♂️ Pacing or restlessness
🫣 Hiding or wanting constant reassurance
🗣️ Barking or howling when left alone
🧸 Destroying toys, shoes… or your favourite pillow

🐣 Easter Pet Safety Reminder! 🐾

Easter brings joy, treats, and celebration but some festive favourites can be toxic to our pets.

🚫 Watch out for:
• 🍫 Chocolate – contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and cats
• 🍞 Hot cross buns – Sultanas/raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs
• 🌸 Lilies – extremely poisonous to cats
• 🎀 Plastic grass & decorations – can cause dangerous blockages if swallowed

⚠️ Signs of toxicity may include:
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Restlessness or hyperactivity
• Tremors or seizures
• Increased heart rate
• Lethargy or weakness
• Changes in normal urination

👉 If your pet eats something they shouldn’t, call us on (02) 91416 1300 or contact Northside Emergency Veterinary Service on (02) 9452 2933 for immediate assistance over the Easter long weekend.
