Itā€™s fine to be excited when you come home. But if you have a young puppy or a dog that already struggles with anxiety. Going completely over the top isnā€™t helpful.

Still acknowledge them, but donā€™t go off your rocker.

I speak for anyone with a reactive or aggressive dog that is working very hard. People who let their uncontrolled off leash dogs approach in leashed spaces (friendly or not), WE HATE YOU & YOUā€™RE DUMB.

No but seriously, itā€™s actually very dangerous and mentally exhausting for people that have difficult dogs who are just trying to live their lives.

You may never have had the experience and I get that. But owners with difficult dogs struggle mentally everyday. And one careless decision by you can derail months of their life.

Be honest, what was your first thought ? Probably a judgement about that lady. This is because you love dogs. Itā€™s hard to imagine someone being this scared of a groodle.

But remember, as much we love dogs. People have full blown phobias.

When regular people get any of these breeds, I just assume theyā€™ve ruined the decision making centres in their brain with drugs.

No, but seriously. Donā€™t do it guys. You likely are not ready for the commitment.

I personally never do this with my own dogs, or dogs that I look after. Most behaviour is created in the house. If the balance is off because your in home life is chaos, donā€™t be surprised that your dog is a menace outside.

Truly these dogs can be ridiculously challenging for owners trying to teach leash manners. Iā€™m not giving you an excuse, but your degree of difficulty is harder than most.
