Macaws are new world parrots that are noisy, colourful and sociable. They are native to Central America and Mexico and are incredibly intelligent, displaying creative, logical and predictive thinking. They can talk and they can feel love and jealousy. They are loyal and they can be trained. They can live 30-35 years in the wild and up to 80 years in captivity. The ones shown here are scarlet macaws and blue and yellow macaws.
