Lane Cove Council is currently revising their policies regarding dogs on all sports fields. They have already claimed that in order to maintain the new sports field at Bob Campbell oval having "dogs allowed off-leash on the field, will not be possible." We are very concerned that Lane Cove Council is considering banning dogs from all other sports fields in Lane Cove as well as part of their revised policy.

Whilst we understand that the policy is currently only under revision we believe this is a chance to ensure that the community has the opportunity to inform their initial decision making process and present a view that is not exclusively that of a single stake holder.

This topic has already featured in articles by both The Daily Telegraph and North Shore Times. A Current Affair on Channel 9 will also be airing a segment regarding Dogs on Sports fields in Lane Cove on Tuesday the 25th at 7pm.

I, along with several other concerned community members, (Jo Brennan, Nadia Ruzicka, Suzanne Varrall) have started a petition to ensure that Sports Fields remain spaces accessible to all members of the community.

We are not asking for unrestricted access. We understand the importance of sports as a community activity but at a time when space is becoming an increasingly limited and ever more valued commodity it’s not realistic or fair that sports fields be reserved for one small section of the community.

Sports Players typically only utilise the fields on weekends and occasionally for afternoon/evening training, why should this valuable public space remain empty and unused the rest of week?

We believe that responsible pet ownership, including cleaning up after pets and ensuring they are well-behaved in public, is essential and must be upheld to ensure that these spaces remain welcoming to all community members.

This is my pup Star! 🌟 She's a 7 year old cavoodle who's my best friend and responsible for my love of dogs! If you've been following this account for a while you'll know her already and seen lots of our adventures together since this used to be her account .

She's definitely a lap dog and loves nothing more than to snuggle up right next to me at night! She also loves to meet up with other dogs at the park particularly her best friend Hallie who's the only dog she'll share a woofle 🧇 with! She's also a great little agility dog and does the whole circuit at Blackmans Park!

Hi Everyone, I'm Helena! I know that personally, I'd hate the thought of letting any old stranger take care of my dog, so I thought I’d introduce myself a little more.

I’m lived in Lane Cove all my life and i’ve been running my business, The Purrfect Pup, for 3 years, but, I’ve worked with animals in a professional capacity far longer than that as an ethical pet shop manager and pet foster carer. I’m also a professional pet photographer with . I’m also a part time UNI student studying PR and a virtual assistant for a couple of local business.
I have my own, very spoiled, cavoodle, Star, who’s my best friend and one of my major inspirations for working with dogs full time. She loves to do the Agility at Blackmans when she's in an energetic mood but she's equally happy to snuggle up on the couch.

In my spare time I foster kittens, the two below are my most recent fosters, Kiwi because he’s all black 😂 and Ember. They’ve just settled into their forever homes and it’s been such a great experience to see their transformation from tiny, anxious kittens to confident, sassy creatures with distinct personalities.

Working with dogs for so long has really made me recognise the importance of seeing every dog as an individual, with their own likes and dislikes and I really try to cater for these in my walks. I love to watch how my dogs develop friendships within my walking groups - some of them most unlikely. A tiny Cavoodle and a ball obsessed Kelpie - who’d have thought it!

So if you’re looking for someone to help look after you pup let me know! I offer regular dog walking, house sitting and visits. My first walk with your pup is always a free trial walk so I can get to know your dog's personality better and match them with the right walking group based on size and temperament.

Even with the awful weather we've been having lately, which is unfortunately set to continue, sinkholes 😳 and mud, we’ve made sure that our pups still got their walks! Lucky for us, all our pups love the rain and have a great time splashing around! (Don’t worry, we rinse & towel them off before we take them home!)

While lots of our pups love to walk in the rain, their owners definitely don’t feel the same way! I’m sure you’re not a fan of walking in the rain or trooping through the mud either, so book in a walk and let us take care of your pup!

This is my oodle Star. 🌟 She loves the agility at Blackmans park and getting a pupcake at the cafe.

One thing we know about oodles is that they LOVE to play, wrestle and run! We also know that they’re definitely not fans of being left home alone. Whether they tell you through the classic pleading eyes and head tilt or by showering you with gifts of torn paper and chewed shoes upon your return, you’ll definitely know what your oodle thinks about being left home alone.

First House Visit Free!
With Freedom Day rapidly approaching, we're sure you can't wait to visit loved ones or take that long-awaited holiday that was put on hold!

A house visit is a perfect alternative to catteries for cat owners who know that their cat will be ok spending the night alone. With house visits, they'll have the freedom to enjoy the comforts of their own home.

Tailored to you and your cats' needs, we'll visit your house for 30+ minutes to give your feline friend some cuddles and play. We'll make sure that they have plenty of food and water and remove any waste.

During our visit, we'll also make sure to snap plenty of photos 📸 so you know your furry friend is having a great time home-alone (and that they aren't throwing any wild parties 🎉 )

As well as providing high-quality pet care, we'll help out with any essential maintenance such as collecting mail, putting out bins and watering! A house visit is also great for security as it looks like someone is still living in the home.

Our house visits are $20/visit or $35 for 2 visits on the same day.
