After many years of dedicated service, we would like to announce the upcoming retirement of Dr Roy Matthews.

Dr Roy graduated from the University of Sydney in 1982 and joined Forestville / Frenchs Forest Veterinary Hospital in 1996. Over nearly three decades with our clinic, Roy has been a highly valued and respected member of our team, known for his compassion, knowledge, and unwavering dedication to his patients and their families.

Roy will continue to see patients on Mondays and Wednesdays until 29 June 2026. Clients who would like to book an appointment with him before his retirement are encouraged to do so via www.ffvh.com.au or by calling 9452 1066.

Roy’s kindness and expertise have had a lasting impact on our team and the wider community, and he will be greatly missed.

We sincerely thank Roy for his many years of service and wish him every happiness and success in the next chapter of his life.

Sir Hopsworth and Potato were in yesterday for their castration surgery. 🐰💙

Here they are pictured after their procedure. Rabbits require extra care when it comes to anaesthesia and recovery, and our team takes every precaution to ensure they are kept safe, comfortable, and well monitored throughout their stay. ❤️‍🩹

We were so pleased to see Stormboy today, looking bright, happy, and pain-free. After a week of rest and pain relief, he’s well and truly back to his playful, cheeky self.
He first came to see us last week with an acute onset of pain in his hind leg. He was very uncomfortable and difficult to examine, so it was decided to sedate him and perform X-rays to rule out any serious injuries. Thankfully, no abnormalities were found on the radiographs, and he has made a great recovery.

This little love came in to see us today for her dental procedure with Dr King! Thankfully, there were no extractions needed for Lucy, just a routine scale and polish! 🦷♥️

A big bravery award goes to Shadow, who was an absolute star during his recent sedation for an ear pluck and clean. He was very well-behaved and calm for the process.
Shadow had quite a lot of hair deep in both of his ear canals, and after being diagnosed with otitis, the veterinarian recommended removing this hair. This will make it much easier and more effective for his medication to reach where needed and prevent future infections.
Well done Shadow - such a brave boy 🐶🩵
