Box Divvy is Community owned and run. This is a fruit veg and grocery cooperative. We purchase a

s a group up to 40% cheaper than supermarkets. It’s a Smart coop and you get more of what you want than a normal coop. Box Divvy is a food box sharing system connecting growers & food producers directly with the Food. It is community owned and run designed to cut your food bill. You join online - there is no registration fee. https://www.boxdivvy.com/ You use an App on your phone or computer or a pad to order. Working with Western Sydney Diabetes Alliance - our aim is to provide accessible, inexpensive good quality fresh food. How it works:
Start Order is roughly $25-$30 and you can take up to 3 things out. You get to Vote for Start Order contents each week. How much you get is based on household size but you'll always get more than what you paid for in the Start Order. THEN
SPLITS (Let's SPLIT share a box). More fruit & veg, groceries, bread, eggs, meat etc. Put up 1 or 2 boxes and look at what others want to share and join them. You'll get great value, supporting farming families whom you'll get to know.

4 DAY ORDER CYCLE –FOR Thursday pick up

Saturday 9pm – Order creation
It’s an OPT OUT SYSTEM so if you don’t want an order for the coming week, you must suspend prior to Saturday 9pm. Your “WISH LIST VOTE” and any changes you wish to make to your household size must also be done by Saturday 9pm. Sunday - Starting Order Published
Login take up to 3 things out and JOIN SPLITS. Tuesday 9pm - CUTOFF
Orders closed. Cards charged. There are 2 automatic processing’s, if those both decline - a $5 recharge fee is applied as it pays for someone to manually reprocess. You must pay BEFORE pick-up. Thursday - PICK UP. You must pick up day of delivery at the pick-up time or arrange with Hubster. PAYMENTS
You must pay for your order once committed to an order cycle. Once in an Order Cycle we cannot withdraw an order. It is your responsibility to suspend the correct weeks. ORDERING SYSTEM
Dead simple. You share boxes online using the App. SUSPENDING ORDERS
When you tick the date, wait, it will turn red to confirm suspension. You’re expected to order weekly or fortnightly. STARTING ORDER
There’s a Starting Order based on your weekly ‘wish list’ VOTE and you can take out up to 3 things. Every week BEFORE Order Creation do a Wish List Vote to help Hubster (person who organisers Hub) to set up Starting Order. SHARE BOXES known as SPLITS
If you wish for more, you join Splits and share boxes. You can suggest a box to share or to your Hubster. Such as saying to your group: “Who’d like to share a box of apples?”

At order cut-off you pay automatically online (Visa or Mastercard & Secure Eway Payment gateway) then boxes from growers & food wholesalers come to the Hubster’s house for packing. You pick up from their place or they may offer home delivery. FRUIT, VEG, BREAD, EGGS – Order, pay, receive this week
GROCERIES – Order, pay, receive next week due to fresh roasting of coffee and made to order. BREAD baker direct – Minimum HUB order total is $30
GROCERIES wholesaler direct – Minimum HUB order is $75. MEAT AND SEAFOOD (NEW) – Order every 4 weeks. READ THE AMOUNTS YOU ARE PURCHASING
Please check carefully if the items are single, handfuls, 500gm, 1 kg etc. Don't assume it's by one item. EXAMPLE: Cherries sold by the box, make sure you’re not putting in 5 thinking it's handfuls when it's boxes. Read the descriptions please. EXTRAS
There are ALWAYS extras as the box belongs to members so your Hubster will divvy extras when available. There is also usually a SWAP box - if you forget to customise your Starting Order, you can throw in some apples and take out some carrots that someone else did not want. You will get great value. COMMUNITY BOX
Many Hubster’s ask members if this SWAP BOX can become a COMMUNITY KINDNESS BOX given to a family in need. This is part of the Social Enterprise experience by being part of the Hub. NOT WANT AN ORDER? There are no contracts, you can suspend orders when you don’t want them. WANT EXACTLY 1 tomato 2 oranges? Then Box Divvy is not for you. This is a coop and things are in handfuls NOT exact items. You need to be flexible but you'll always get good value. We are a group of community minded people wanting to change the food system. Reduce packaging and pay our farmers fairly. By reducing our carbon footprint by 90% this means we buy in bulk as a group and then share it. We need to be a bit flexible. You will know roughly what you will get but you can’t get exact. We have a Packing Guide but the numbers will change as produce is smaller or larger. Mostly you will get extras overall. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT I SPEND? EASY. You will pay the STARTING ORDER PLUS if you join in SPLITS or ADD Groceries. At the bottom of MY ORDER you will see the MAX you will pay if all your SPLITS get over the line, any groceries you’ve ordered and the Starting Order. You can reduce the SPLITS or Groceries you joined BEFORE CUTOFF. PACKAGING
Much of the produce comes loose so please provide your Hubster with a NAME LABELLED BAG: ALSO - calico/wash nets to put handfuls in (do not expect your Hubster to provide paper bags please): Bring in your old icecream containers, for example, for the Hub to put soft stuff in. If you get an item in plastic, recycle it in your soft plastic bin. We don't interrupt the packing from the farmer. Farmers are trying to work out how to transport produce and it can’t always be plastic free - for the moment. The Sugar Cane bags are not strong, don't last and definitely not airtight. Cardboard and paper fall apart. New technology is being worked on. NOT FOR ME
If after you’ve tried it and Box Divvy is not working the way you want, then you can cancel membership. So? Join our group to make a difference. You have the power to do so. Cut your food bill significantly – Wow! The goal: to cut your food bill, without compromising on the quality, freshness and variety of food. With minimal effort, minimal packaging and food miles, and still paying farmers and suppliers a fair price for their produce.

Sometimes recycling isn’t an option - like with your general waste bin. But switching to compostable bin liners is an easy way to reduce your impact.

We’re loving Compost-A-Pak - an Australian, family-run business making certified compostable liners right here in NSW.

They’re made from corn (a renewable crop), using non-GMO, rain-fed sources, and even utilise lower-grade corn that would otherwise go to waste - so it doesn’t compete with food supply.

The result? Strong, practical bin liners that break down properly and are better for the planet.

Find them in Pantry ➡️ Household (along with almost 800 other pantry staples!)

A small swap, but a meaningful one 🌱

M A R K E T U P D A T E 🌱

Corella pears make an appearance on marketplace this week, joining Packham, Josephine and Nashi pears.

Golden Delicious along with Granny Smith apples are the most budget friendly apples this week, both circa $5 a kg. Pink Lady apples however are still a tad expensive.

Berries are available but not cheap - a similar story to grapes. Grapes are out of peak season now and prices are beginning to creep weekly.

We wont have melons this week as supply is scarce and likely to remain this way for another 3-4 weeks.

In terms of local, Xerri Bros (Agnes Banks) are busy this week picking whole broccoli again for just over $2 each. They are also picking green cabbages for just shy of $3 each, eggplants for $1.68 each and shallots for $1.50 a bunch.

Simon Chong (Leppington) is supplying radishes for $2.31 a bunch, chinese spinach for $3.54 a bunch and rocket for $2.50 a bunch.

In terms of value, corn is just 69 cents a cob, green capsicum will be just under $4 a kg and butternut pumpkins will be just $3.70 each.

Lastly we'll have uncured green olives and chestnuts available again.

A good news story.

Powered by Members, Driven by Community. Recycling the smart way.

Something remarkable is happening across Box Divvy Hubs right now in NSW and ACT.

While the national soft plastics recycling system collapsed, our members didn’t wait for a fix and they built one. Together with ReSmart, Box Divvy communities are quietly rewriting the story of what happens to soft, scrunchable, clean, and dry plastic bags, like bread bags, biscuit packaging, bubble wrap, chip packets, and frozen food bags. And the results are already turning heads.

In just one month, 1.6 tonnes of soft plastics were diverted from landfill and that’s only the beginning.

This isn’t just recycling. It’s a working, local, circular system powered by members, Hubsters and everyday action.

Monday Market Update
A relatively quiet morning, with some welcome price relief for Iceberg lettuce (now under $3 each). Still Victorian, but Xerri will start in a few weeks’ time.

Another price drop: Josephine pears came in below budget and are now $2.82/kg. One of the most fragrant pears, worth a try.

Persimmons are back, albeit smaller fruit than usual.

Regular cherry and grape tomatoes are scarce, but there’s plenty of black and yellow cherry.

Also, Roma tomato supply from North Queensland is picking up - back on the Marketplace menu.

All-in-all, market prices are yet to fully price the effects of higher fuel prices 🤞🤞🤞

Rising fuel costs impact food prices unevenly, affecting supply chains.

This week we got Jujube berries. About the size of a walnut. Texture like a soft apple. Yum.

What’s In Season?

Alright the markets have spoken… and this week it’s basically a tropical holiday in your fruit bowl.

Tropical Stars
Papaya, pineapple and passionfruit are absolutely bringing it this week both sweet, juicy and seriously good value.
And bananas? Still the hero of the basket at $3.25/kg
Meanwhile supermarkets are flirting with between $3.90 to $4.50/kg… awkward.

New Season Apples & Berry Swap
Say hello to NEW season Kanzi apples from Queensland at $6.86/kg and yep, cheaper than Pink Ladies.

Blueberries have clocked off (scarce + pricey), so we’re calling in reinforcements:
• Raspberries $3 a punnet
• Strawberries $3.60 a punnet

Easy switch.
Melons & A Little Plot Twist
Watermelon is cruising along nicely and Rockmelons are still big now $5.86 each so up $2

And now for something a bit fancy…
Kiwi… but make it red
Yep, Red Kiwi have entered with them being sweeter than gold, slightly smaller.

Red Kiwi $2.21 each
Gold Kiwi still going strong
Green Kiwi arriving next week

Veggie Patch Update

Shepard avocados under $1 (run, don’t walk)
Green beans $4.90/kg
Broccoli is coming down in price, with local Xerri Family Farm stock landing next week
Cabbage & kale are great value
Cauliflower with a drumroll… now around $4

The “Fuel Crisis Veg”

Beetroot has had a moment… and not the good kind.
Up 50% and a bit scarce at $6.73/kg. Blame fuel, not the farmers.
Potatoes and tomatoes are also feeling the pinch thanks to transport from SA.

Salad Days
Plenty to love: cucumbers, lettuce, mushrooms, onions, eggplant, pumpkin and leafy greens everywhere. Basically, your salad bowl has no excuses.

Why seasonal matters
Behind all this good food is something even better. Eating produce in season means it’s fresher, tastier, and often better value because it hasn’t travelled far or needed expensive storage. We’re paying our farmers 10–15% more to help cover rising fuel and input costs because we want them to know we have their backs and to keep growing the amazing produce we all rely on.

So every box you fill? You’re backing Aussie farmers, supporting seasonal produce, and keeping fresh food flowing. Not bad for a week’s shop.
