No stormwater, no torrential rain or sewage has left Sydney’s Sustainable House since it was made off-grid in 1996. It is locked off town water. All water from the house roof drains to an underground 10,000 litre concrete tank, when it overflows it flows into a leaky well, mimicking the predevelopment flow. Sewage is kept in a long concrete tank. Data, drawings, monitoring, products, materials with photos are in my book Sustainable House.
