We are a family owned and operated business based solely on the Sunshine Coast. Our staff members are dedicated, caring and passionate about the welfare of animals, and all have fur families of our own. Our goal is to provide a caring and dignified service to make the difficult time as easy as possible. At Pet rest cremations, we understand that it can be challenging to hand over your beloved fami

ly member to strangers, and as such, we have an open door policy. We are located within the grounds of the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge and greatly value the relationship we have with the organisation and volunteers. The Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge grounds are beautifully maintained in the tranquil bushland surrounds. Our team are all local residents and support Sunshine Coast small businesses where we can.

As 2026 begins, we would like reflect on who we are and what having a small family business looks like on the Sunshine Coast.
We are a Buderim family and employ other sunshine coast locals. We have a small team of 7 + Phil and I. You might have talked to Rebecca, Rosie, Lauren, Jenna, Justin, D’Arcy or Daynah if you have been in contact with us before. When you use our local business, this is who you are supporting. ♥

We have been disheartened to see how commercialised and financially driven the pet and animal industry has become. Small businesses like Pet Rest are now competing with large corporations that are directly connected with the veterinary industry and clinics. We are sure that there are plenty of other families in the similar situations.

Our values surround supporting families through difficult times and providing a personalised, caring and dignified service for beloved pets- we always work by the principal that a good service speaks for itself. After 28 years, thousands of families cared for, beautiful thankyou cards and texts, and valued veterinary connections- we hope this rings true.

Something you may not know about us is that we don’t use transport couriers or subcontracted delivery drivers. We have two lovely vehicles fit for purpose and the team member who collects your beloved family member is specially trained and will personally attend to your pet. We only have a small team- you can talk to the people who will directly care for your beloved family member.
You can visit us in the heart of the Sunshine coast, in Tanawha. We have been in the same location for 29 years – based within the grounds of the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge.
If you would like more information about your options, talk to your vet, contact us on 5439 6111 or at [email protected]
Your experience matters to us and we genuinely care about providing you with a personalised and fitting farewell for your beloved family member
Thanks for reading if you made it to the end!
Wishing everyone a fantastic 2026!

At 11 am on 11 November 1918 the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The allied armies had driven the German invaders back, having inflicted heavy defeats upon them over the preceding four months. In November the Germans called for an armistice (suspension of fighting) in order to secure a peace settlement. They accepted allied terms that amounted to unconditional surrender.
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month attained a special significance in the post-war years. The moment when hostilities ceased on the Western Front became universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war. This first modern world conflict had brought about the mobilisation of over 70 million people and left between 9 and 13 million dead, perhaps as many as one-third of them with no known grave. The allied nations chose this day and time for the commemoration of their war dead.

We will remember them.

🕷️ How to Check Your Dog for Ticks

Keep your pup safe this tick season by doing a thorough check:
🐾 Run your fingertips through their coat at skin level, feeling for any bumps
🐾 Start at the head and neck – don’t forget their ears and around the mouth
🐾 Check their front legs and paws, including between the toes
🐾 Move along the chest, belly, back, tail, and hind legs
🐾 Remove their collar to inspect for any ticks hiding underneath

Regular checks help catch ticks early and keep your furry friend safe!
