He saved 90 dogs from a brutal Korean meat farm and became the only hope they had left.

Gus Kenworthy wasn’t there for fame or attention. He walked into that farm and saw rows of terrified dogs shaking inside tiny wire cages. Some were too scared to lift their heads. Others reached out gently with their noses, as if asking him not to leave them behind.

He said the smell, the fear, and the silence broke him. These were dogs who had never been held, never been loved, and never seen sunlight. But the moment they saw him, something changed. They trusted him without even knowing why.

Gus partnered with Humane Society International and began pulling each dog out of the darkness. One by one, they carried them into the fresh air, where many saw the sky for the very first time. Some wagged their tails. Some cried softly. Every single one finally had a future.

He adopted some of the dogs himself and helped send the rest to safe shelters and loving homes across the United States and Canada. The farm was shut down for good, and those 90 lives walked into freedom.

His actions didn’t just save dogs. They helped spark worldwide pressure on South Korea to move toward ending the dog meat trade forever.

Sometimes the biggest heroes are not the most famous, but the ones who choose compassion when no one expects them to.

The third and final Community Forum was held in Caloundra last night. Once again it was exceptionally well run. Over 200 people attended and many questions were again asked. Many were similar to the questions asked in previous forums:
Why here?
Why are some areas being targeted and others left untouched?
How is the traffic and parking going to be managed?
Where is the infrastructure to support this level of densification?
Why is this plan turning family suburbs into high-rises?
Why are we losing everything that is precious to Calounda?
How will the parking of boat trailers, caravans and RV get parked?

The classic question of the night (but makes a very valid point) was:
"I have a bit to do with cows. And we all know there is only a certain amount of cows you can put into a paddock before it doesn't work. Are we putting too many cows into the one paddock?"

Both the CEO and Mayor stressed this Proposed Plan is "Not Set in Stone" and they need to hear from everyone via a submission. The CEO also mentioned that the three Forums and the questions asked will be also be considered in the summary of this Community Consultation.
The CEO specifically stated, "This is about balance and what I am hearing is we have gotten the balance wrong". He did stop short of agreeing they were putting too many "cows into one paddock"!
