🥇 Best Baby Puppy in Group 3!

Only his second show, and our golden boy Rosengold Scotch and Swagger (Scooby) has already strutted off with a sash—Best Baby Puppy in Group at Eaglehawk Kennel Club 💛

Judged by Mr. Roger Bridgford, esteemed Golden Retriever Specialist from Taumac Kennels, Scooby was very well received with some lovely comments on how well-trained and composed he was for such a young pup.

It was a real privilege to have my boy assessed by someone with such a deep love and legacy in the breed. I’m absolutely thrilled with how Scooby handled himself—confident, focused, and clearly loving the spotlight.

Massive thanks to Roger for his time and thoughtful judging, and to everyone ringside who cheered him on.

We had originally planned to keep this beautiful little girl in our breeding program—but after many long (and emotional) conversations about what’s best long-term for our dogs and our goals, we’ve made the difficult decision to place her in a loving forever home 🏡

Meet Tilly, registered as Rosengold Peaches and Cream—our tiniest, sweetest, softest little soul. She’s the emotional support puppy of the litter. The one Sass would sneak away to feed separately. The quiet one who curls up underfoot and melts into your lap like she’s belonged there forever.

Tilly has been raised in a loving family environment with exposure to children, other dogs, horses, and plenty of chaos. She’s gentle, emotionally intuitive, and would make an incredible companion in a calm, nurturing home.

Our puppies are nearly ready to head off to their forever homes 🏡 and George and Tilly, our two little keepers, will be moving back inside with us at night. So we’re soaking up the calm before the crate training chaos begins 😅💤

Sass is absolutely loving being back indoors—curled up in her favourite spot, finally getting some peace and quiet after raising 8 very loud, very hungry babies 💛

The pups are thriving in their stable setup:
🌾 A hay fort to play in—because why the hell not? Every good puppy deserves a hay castle.
🔥 A heat lamp glowing over a very cosy bed—because nothing says luxury like barn-style central heating.
🌿 Daily adventures in the backyard—learning, exploring, zooming, and occasionally stealing leaves for fun, not to mention having an absolute ball in the puddles with this weather we are having!

They’ve had the best start, and we couldn’t be prouder of how confident, social, and downright adorable they’ve become 💕

It’s always bittersweet saying goodbye—but knowing they’re going to incredible homes makes it all worth it.

We hear it all the time — ‘Why breed dogs when there are so many in pounds?’ 🐾

It’s a valid concern, and one that’s born from wanting the best for animals — which, frankly, is something we absolutely agree with. ❤️

But responsible, ethical breeding isn’t the problem. It’s actually part of the solution. ✅

Here’s why reputable breeders continue to breed, even if they don’t keep a puppy from every litter:

1. Breed Preservation: Breeders help preserve and improve the breed by carefully selecting for health, temperament, and conformation.
Even if you don’t keep a puppy yourself, you’re contributing to the future of the breed.

2. Providing Healthy Pets: Not every family wants or can afford to go through a less reputable source for a pet. Your litters provide families with healthy, well-socialised, and well-bred companions who can enrich their lives.

3. Advancing the Breed: Each litter gives you the opportunity to evaluate and potentially improve your breeding program. Even if you don’t keep a puppy this time, you’re assessing which lines and traits to focus on in the future.

4. Breed Community and Support: Reputable breeders often support their puppy buyers throughout the dog’s life, offering guidance and ensuring the dog remains healthy and happy. This kind of support is invaluable for many families.

Your role as a reputable breeder is incredibly important, even if you don’t keep a puppy from every litter. You’re contributing to the overall health and longevity of the breed and providing loving families with amazing companions.

It’s that time of year again—annual eye tests for the crew! 👁️✅

Health always comes first, and regular eye exams are an important part of responsible breeding to ensure our dogs are happy, healthy, and thriving.

After that, it’s spa day! Both pups are getting a much-needed groom—though let’s be honest, Sass is the real priority as we get ready to welcome some very special puppies soon! 🐶✨

🐾 Exciting News! 🐾

We’re thrilled to announce that we’re expecting a very special litter, due mid-April!

Our beautiful girl Harvikgold Sassenach has been successfully paired with the stunning Aust. Ch.Hvar Been There Done That (AI) - a combination we’re beyond excited about.

We can’t wait to meet these promising little ones and see what the future holds for them!
