Several days ago, I was sitting outside our Strathalbyn Cafe The Vault having a cuppa, when a couple sat at the table next to me with a Border Collie, who was the size of a whale and seemed to be suffering from a major neurological disorder, unable to walk normally and when I stared into her beautiful eyes, they appeared highly wired! It instantly broke my heart to see her like this and I couldn't help but ask what caused this and what was her age, because she didn't look old! ... Her owner replied by saying She's only 4 years old and we are unsure what has caused this, but we are taking her to the vet after lunch to be put to sleep! πͺπ ...
R.I.P. dear girl! πΆππ ...
No judgement here, but I see overweight dogs all too often, or ones with health issues at reasonably young ages. I have to question the diet always, as there are many terrible dog food brands currently on the market, and some of the vet recommended ones are also some of the worst! ...
All too often I have dogs coming into my care, who seem to have a hard time eating their kibble! Their sharp noses can smell the food I am feeding my dogs, and they will look at me in a certain manner, as if to say "I'll have what she's having! " ππΆπ...
As a dog lover with a special interest in healthy and nutritious raw dog food, I feel it is my duty to tell my clients if I think their beloved fur baby, isn't really thriving on their current diet. Our meat loving companions weren't designed to eat only dry food filled with grains or corn, and listed as the number one ingredient. π€ However it is not always an option for dog owners to feed raw, so this is when I think it is important to read the packaging labels and make sure you are feeding a high quality kibble with real meat as the main ingredient! ππΆπ ...
My girls get a variety of dog foods to keep them healthy and interested, although they are both such piggies, they would eat anything you put in front of them! Lol ... but their diets consist of Big Dog Raw patties & Lyka, for raw & semi raw meats & as a treat they get οΉ°Eureka ( similar to Ziwi but cheaper!) and Petzyo or LifeWise kibble. Sardines and eggs another once weekly treat, as well as raw meaty kangaroo bones. I avoid feeding canned Tuna due to the high levels of mercury, which I have witnessed can cause irreversable blindness if fed for prolonged times in large amounts! ...
Here is a really good and thoroughly researched website, which shows all the dog foods wet and dry, and gives them a score of 1 to 10. Are you keen to put your dog's current diet to the test? π€ππΆ ...

I can highly recommend Lyka ( it scores a whopping 9.6!!ππΆ) as a healthy and super convenient food for your pooch, as it is delivered to your door frozen and very well packaged & it's human grade!! πΆπ ... Once you fill in your dogs details online, they will calculate for you the correct amounts to feed, so there is no guess work involved! ππΆ π ...
If this should interest you, here is a 50% discount code for you to give Lyka a try, which you won't regret if you can afford it, but I always think that vet bills are more expensive, and what better way to avoid that, if your dog is thriving and healthy! ππΆπ...

PS. You can cancel Lyka at any time no questions asked! πΆππ ...
I buy Big Dog Patties from Mt Barker Pet Centre, and LifeWise and Eureka online, usually from Pet Circle, as they seem to be the cheapest. πΆππΆ ...
