Phoenix got quite a surprise when he found me in the forest with a full face mask on to keep the flies away. He took a moment to recognise me but his curiosity and bravery, quickly took over. He is maturing to be so much like his father in looks and personality.

We are currently experiencing sudden, severe drought conditions here. With no rain forecast and not getting enough to grow any good grass to get through Winter, the stockpile of hay I had set is aside to use in Winter is dwindling fast. Fuel prices have seen hay prices rise significantly already and I need to purchase another truckload of hay fast. Sometime ago, I froze semen on my beautiful stallion, Willowvale Eagle Feather (Neosho, Grey Feather). I am now offering a limited number of these doses of frozen semen for sale for $550 per dose. Purchase now to use at anytime in the future for your mare. Any purchase will go directly towards purchasing hay and water for the herd here. Phoenix is looking for his new person. I would prefer he go to someone who is experienced with young horses. He will take time to warm up to someone new. Once he knows you, he is highly interactive and very much looking for the stimulation of a one on one connection.

Phoenix is now spending the days with his sire, Eagle. Phoenix is the first foal I have raised with breeds other than the Spanish Mustangs. He had spent most of his life with brumby Jarrah. The difference in who he has become and how he is to handle is marked when compared to all the other foals I raised with the Spanish Mustang herd in the past. I decided to see if Jarrah would be happy with Sienna and Ebony which he immediately was, perhaps welcoming the break from the chaos of Phoenix! I then let Eagle in with his son and they have been living together for the past week during the day. It surprised me how gentle Eagle is being with his exuberant son. He is also putting some very strong, much needed boundaries in place when he deems necessary and it is fascinating to watch all these interactions take place. Phoenix has always been very intrigued by Lacey and Eagle and has been able to greet them over the fence his whole life. He seems very happy with the added stimulation of the conversation and lessons his father is bringing to his daily life. Phoenix is 18 months old now so is certainly ready for the change and seems to be revelling in it.

Cheeky, gorgeous Phoenix is 17 months old and so much like his sire, Eagle. He is strongly bonded to brumby Jarrah who has been beside him, helping raise him his whole life.

Although I don't post often these days, today is one of those special days for us here. Eagle has just turned 8 years old. He has been a whole lot of fun as well as very challenging at times, as he matured into the sweet stallion he is today. The past couple of years he has calmed down so much and is such a delight to be around. I think Laceys influence in his life has seen him find a real peace as well. They are quite inseparable. I am so grateful for all the lessons Eagle has taught me over the years. He is super protective of his family and he includes my partner and I in that circle. It really is a remarkable experience walking the path from birth till now with both Eagle and Lacey ❤️
