Wonderful Island Artist 🏝️

This is quite an old painting of Whitecliff Bay between Bembridge and Sandown on the Isle of Wight.
I've had a few requests for paintings of this area recently, I need to work out the tides are low enough to stroll along and take a trip along there with my sketchpad.
My last trip to this beach was in my kayak when I went around the island in stages, the sea w**d and rock formations were fascinating to view from above.

This painting of Steephill Cove is one of my favourites, I love the beach on blustery windswept days as well as fine.
The flotsam and jetsam hanging in the gardens makes such a lovely subject to draw. I can't help but feel buoyant when I see them in their cluster of warm colours hanging like a bunch of grapes.
The lobster pots and fishing nets are another favourite of mine to draw in pen.
It's always tempting to put a seagull in centre spot in a seaside painting but corvids are just as likely to be found on the seashore.
