Some spots are just made for letting your mind drift.
Tucked away in the garden hangs a simple wooden swing suspended from the sturdy branch of one of our beautiful old peppercorn trees.
With its twisting branches and delicate feathery leaves this tree has been providing shade here for generations. Now it holds the perfect hidden nook for catching the afternoon breeze, listening to the rustle of the leaves or watching Didda and Daddagraze I the distance.
It’s a gentle reminder that the best parts of a country getaway aren’t always the things that you do, they’re the quiet simple moments when you do absolutely nothing at all!

Meet the official lawnmowers of The Old Butter Factory. Our two beautiful pet Awasi sheep Didda and Didda like to keep an eye over the paddocks.
Awasi sheep are famous for their beautiful thick wooly coats and their wonderfully distinct dark faces. But around The Old Butter Factory Didda and Didda are mostly famous for their big personalities.
Didda is the cheeky mastermind who is always first to the fence if she hears a rustle of a snack bag. Daddy is the gentle girl who prefers a slow, sunny afternoon nap ear the garden edge.
They love welcoming our guests as much as we do. When you stay in the cottage don’t be shy,come down and say hello. They might just let you capture the ultimate farm life selfie!

There are surprises around every corner at The Old Butter Factory. Step through the archway and into our own little corner of Mexico.

We are absolutely swooning over our Freida Kahlo inspired courtyard filled with rich earthy textures and bold pops of colour. It’s designed to feel like a living canvas of artistic warmth.
Our magnificent date palm is the undisputed star of our space. Its dramatic sweeping fronds filter the afternoon sun perfectly, casting shadows across the courtyard walls.

Freida once said “ I paint flowers so they will not die.” We like to think we have captured a bit of that passionate creative spirit right here. It is the ultimate hidden nook for sipping a cold drink, getting lost in a great read or simply soaking up the slow rhythm of life in the country.

There is something deeply grounding about the texture of weathered timber and cottage gardens. Our beautiful bar has stood the test of time, keeping watch over The Butter Factory and Didda Didda Creek. Every crack in the wood tells a story of hard work, changing seasons and heritage. If only the walls could talk!

🎨✨ What a wonderful afternoon at The Old Butter Factory yesterday for our Paint & Sip class!

It was such a pleasure to spend the afternoon with a fantastic group of creative people, all putting their own unique touch on the beautiful floral artwork. 🌸🖌️

One of the things I love most about these sessions is seeing how everyone starts with the same inspiration but finishes with something completely their own. The talent, creativity and laughter in the room made for a truly enjoyable afternoon.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and embraced the process. Your enthusiasm and willingness to have a go made the class so special.

Here’s to more creativity, connection, and colourful afternoons ahead. 🎨🥂💐
