Rosemary Sehl is the Queen of the Macdolly super sniffers and trackers

Her training is amazing and her dedication to bringing out the best in the dogs is second to none

Coupled with her ability to invest in others - she has forged a great team with Brittany and Lisa benefitting from her experience and we could not be prouder💙

A couple of weeks ago (cause we are way behind on updates) the following amazing thing happened

Jess who is only still a puppy completed her Tracking Title - TD

Rosemary shares ………..

Something a little different…

A drive from Townsville last weekend to a drive to Woodford this weekend.

Tracking last weekend, Track and Search the next weekend.

Jess competing and gaining her TD title last weekend, Jess starting on her Track and Search journey this weekend…

Sooooo…..
A little blue girl completed her TSD one yesterday afternoon.

We had an unknown known and it was raining, there were lots of ducks 🦆 and interesting birds around, and BIG BARKING DOGS that had lots to say to a poor little girl. Needless to say it was a lot to take in but I was so proud of her.

She switched between puppy brain moments (birds… oh those BIRDS!) to something I haven’t seen since Devo, and that is the calculated assessment of a dog that can track, work the environment and puzzle solve on the go. She is going to challenge me in so many amazing ways 🩷

Today it was Rudi’s turn on his TSD 5. The first one with no articles on the track and a two hour wait in the streets of Woodford. His first true Urban track and not surprisingly filled with more barking dogs at fences for most of the track. I’m so proud of Rudi’s temperament and working abilities as he ignored all the silly comments from other dogs and kept his tail wagging and butt strutting along the roads. He was on a mission 🖤

Both receiving a grading of “Very Good” under Judges Helen Lofthouse for Rudi, and Helen Williams for Jess.

Thank you for the lovely comments of their tracks and to the Subcommittee for holding the extra TSD trial in this amazing location.
It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve had a wet track and it was fascinating to watch dogs work in this environment again.

We are so proud of these dogs !!!

DeeBee went on a weekend trip with Aunty Marg to Perth ✈️ a few weeks back to the FCI international shows

She won all Best of Breeds on offer, got a group placement and won her 4th and final CACIB needed to apply for her CIE title

Once all approved she will have completed her
CIE
A2O
Grand
Supreme
titles

We could not be prouder of all the success she has enjoyed and we do not show her a lot - post babies 10 mths ago her ‘baby roll on the shoulders’ refuses to budge

DeeBee is sired by Tommy and finishing her CIE title now gives us a father and daughter combo with the same titles …

Supreme Ch Macdolly When We Fell in Love

Our little blue elfie has so many people who love to show her we are so grateful - Samantha, Marg, Savannah, Monique, Shannon,Terri & Hope all make her shine

The hardest posts to write are always the ones for those who leave the biggest footprints on our hearts.

We just celebrated the 15th birthday of the best gold girl ever. Now with hearts that are completely broken, we have to say goodbye.

Neuter Grand / Supreme Champion Macdolly G L A M O R O U S
“Fergie”
18 July 2011 – 30 July 2026

Sire: Ch Winline’s You’re The One I Want (Imp Sweden)
Dam: Ch Macdolly Cest La Vie

Fergie was born to be a show dog.

From her very first outings she announced herself to the world with multiple Baby in Group and Baby in Show awards, and we knew she was something special. At just eight months of age she won her first Best in Group, and from Puppy Class she claimed her first Reserve Challenge at the Cocker Spaniel Specialty. Brisbane Royal, Cocker Specialties, Gundog Specialties, Royal Shows… wherever she went she made memories that we will treasure forever.

Her list of achievements is far too long to recount, but every single win meant something to us. Every ribbon, every challenge, every Best in Show was celebrated because they were won by a girl who simply loved being in the ring.

Breed specialists and true gundog people always seemed to find Fergie. They admired her, spoke so highly of her, and appreciated everything that made her special.

She had the most beautiful golden coat… until after her second season when she seemed to spend so much of her life completely naked! More than once she was overlooked because she lacked furnishings, but those who judged the dog beneath the coat always recognised her quality.

Fergie proudly became the first gold female Supreme Champion Cocker Spaniel in the breed.

She had just one litter, sired by our own black import Sup Ch Totenkopf Dutch Courage (Imp UK) “Darcey”. From that litter we kept her son, Macdolly Double O Seven “Bond”, who went on to become an All Breeds Best in Show winner before beginning a wonderful new life overseas with his family.

Eventually we decided we couldn’t show her forever. 🤣 With Neuter competition becoming so popular, Fergie embarked on her second career. She was desexed and continued showing until October 2023. Ironically, after a lifetime of being short on coat, neutering gave her the biggest coat she’d ever had! It seemed only fitting that she retired after years of patiently standing through countless hours of grooming.

Fergie was loved by so many.

Robyn always joked that if her husband would let her have a house dog, Fergie would be coming home with her, and she lovingly referred to her as “my girl”. Cynthia and Gordon both showed her with enormous success.

Then along came Monique, with her beautiful flowing golden hair. She met Fergie, instantly fell in love, and together they learned what it meant to be an incredible team. Fergie cemented Monique’s lifelong love affair with Cocker Spaniels.

Looking back through Show Manager today, the numbers are simply extraordinary combined across the two classes - entire and neuter.

* 93 Best in Show
* 23 Reserve Best in Show
* 165 Best in Group
* 2,796 points accumulated on the journey to her Supreme Championship and Neuter Grand Championship.

But those statistics only tell a fraction of her story.

Because to us, Fergie wasn’t defined by ribbons.

She was the easiest dog to live with. She never barked unnecessarily, never looked for a fight, never had a jealous bone in her body. She was gentle, biddable, endlessly affectionate and loved with her whole heart.

She was also delightfully naughty.

If something had disappeared, Fergie almost certainly had it. If there was somewhere she wanted to be, she would quietly work out exactly how to get there. She always kept us smiling.

And there was always a rabbit.

For fifteen years we bought her rabbit toys in every shape, size and colour imaginable, and there was always one tucked under her chin, carried proudly around the house, or beside her as she slept. It simply wouldn’t have been Fergie without a rabbit.

Fifteen years is an amazing innings, and we know how incredibly lucky we were.

But no matter how long we are blessed to have them, it is never long enough.

Thank you, Fergie, for every cuddle, every laugh, every ribbon, every memory, every mile travelled together and every moment that made us proud to call you ours.

You were so much more than Australia’s best gold girl.

You were our heart.

Run free now with all those who have gone before you.

Until we meet again…

Fergie. Dish. Disshy. Glammy. Glammy Girl, Dishlish - our 💖

You were loved beyond measure, and you always will be.

“The hardest thing about loving a dog is having to say goodbye.”

Forever in our hearts. 💛🌈 missed terribly by Terri, Denise, Heath & Monique
