Buying bulk with meats used to feel overwhelming but ever since joining Box Divvy where watermelons and pumpkins are bought as a whole; I have no trouble chomping through or turning them into various dishes without wasting, just need some quick research online.

Got ourselves a 5.5kg pork shoulder, in which half got slow-cooked into Mexican carnitas pulled pork (Nagi’s recipe, so easy yet divine!) eaten in tacos and enchiladas.

The other half was marinaded in char siu sauce then frozen since we were all porked out. Got some guests over and pulled out these slightly charred yet still juicy pieces from the oven. OMG! The Best!

Immensely proud of my first attempt in fermenting and can’t help but pickle those pretty radish. The hour passed by ever so leisurely whilst listening to Coldplay on the background and letting my fingers get busy with all the chopping and massaging.

Have never thought I’ll be trying to make sauerkraut but thanks to encouragement and advise from member MM and hubster Tammy, I have now got 2 jars of hopefully successful and delicious sauerkraut to populate our gut.

Pickling is easy yet the beautiful crunch of homemade version is just divine, especially in jalapeños, a reminder from Angela. I’ve just used the same pickling liquid for all but added turmeric powder for the daikon 😝

When produce are fresh and just there (or cheap coz in season!), it’s so easy to turn them into unexpected dishes.

Our hub has started our order knowing its national pear week and enthusiastically got all 8 different pears through the line. Got us crossed eyes trying to tell them all apart 🤭
