🐴 6 FREE Wolf Tooth Extractions Available for Young Horses! 🐴
Friday, 8 May 2026 | EVDS, South Grafton
EVDS is looking for 6 lucky young horses with wolf teeth to take part in our Essentials of Equine Dentistry Workshop for Veterinarians at our clinic on Friday, 8 May.
✅ FREE treatment
✅ Save over $400 on the recommended retail price
✅ Supervised by experienced equine veterinary dental tutors
✅ Performed as part of a 6 day postgraduate veterinary training course
To qualify, your horse must:
🐴 Have wolf teeth
🐴 Be a filly or gelding under 4 yrs of age – no colts
🐴 Be halter trained and leadable
🐴 Have basic manners
🐴 Be able to float or truck to EVDS
📍 160 Old Lilypool Road, South Grafton
Eligible wolf tooth horses will receive FREE:
✅ Clinical examination by registered veterinarian
✅ Sedation to reduce stress, allow a proper oral examination, and help avoid fearful memories
✅ Nerve blocks so they don’t feel the extraction
✅ Tetanus booster if needed
✅ Anti-inflammatory pain relief injection
✅ Extraction of wolf teeth
✅ Odontoplasty – aka performance float, balance and “bit seat” and Dental Chart
Wolf teeth are completely useless to the horse but can become painful if contacted by the bit, so they are often best removed before they cause problems. And the younger the horse the easier they are to extract.

📅 Event Details
Our live horse dentistry days run on 8–9 May 2026, with the young horse wolf tooth session starting at 10am on Friday, 8 May.
These workshops help licensed equine veterinarians refine their equine dentistry skills through 6 big days of hands-on learning, under expert supervision from Australian and international tutors.
Because this is a teaching environment, procedures take longer than a standard appointment. Horses are sedated, nerve blocks are used where appropriate, FREE X-rays may sometimes be taken, and additional time is spent examining, treating and discussing findings.
Please don’t bring a horse that will be competing in the next 7-10 days, due to with holding periods on the sedatives and anti-inflammatories if given.
We typically see 120–150 horses across the two live horse days – after 4 days of prior training - with between 32 and 40 veterinarians in attendance.
⏰ Please allow several hours at the clinic — sometimes may be most of the day.
Owners are welcome to relax in our owners’ tent with complimentary:
☕ Tea and coffee
🥤 Cold drinks
🍪 Biscuits
📶 Wi-Fi
🪑 Tables and chairs
