SHOW us a Red Henno – and we’ll show you a winner!

Especially if one of his stock is prepared by talented young Gosford trainer Jake Hull Racing.

Fittingly, the former jockey chalked up a half century of winners on the other side of racing’s fence when the stallion’s daughter Red Chick won at Port Macquarie on Wednesday..

Ridden by Shannen Llewellyn, the three-year-old filly broke through in the 1000m Maiden at only her third start, & first on resumption.

In doing so, she upset the $1.35 hotpot Cool Zousain, who has now been runner-up at both starts for his Gosford trainer Adam Duggan.

If Hull’s major client John O’Connor was looking for a trainer to advertise the worth of his stallion Red Henno, he needed to look no further than Hull, who prepares his horses at Feale Park at Somersby. Jake Hull Racing undoubtedly has a “soft spot” for Quirindi!

He went back there on Monday to the track where he got the last winner of his riding career.

The result was the same – but this time on the other side of racing’s fence as a trainer.

Gosford-based Hull, who is making as great fist of his training venture, led in his 48th winner when lightly-raced filly Di**le Grey (pictured) took the 1200m Class 1 to make it two wins from only four starts.

Ridden by Luke Rolls (his first winner for Hull), Di**le Grey ($4.80) surged home on the extreme outside of the track to defeat the $3.40 joint favorites Indi Springs & Imperial State.

Hull rode more than 150 winners, & the last of them was at Quirindi on June 20, 2020 on former South Australian gelding Wallace Street, who came from last of 10 runners in a 1200m Class 3.
