Our first home grown pumpkin for the season & what a beauty 🧡🧡🧡
All our compostable waste goes into our huge chook pen area. These giant pumpkin vines have grown organically in our beautiful rich soil, heaps of rain and enough sunshine. Going by all the baby pumpkins popping out we will be using all our own pumpkins in meals for the next few months 🍾🥂💥💥💥😻

Did you know pumpkin is fantastic for dogs with gastrointestinal upsets. It can help firm stools but will also help with constipation as well. Amazing. We add fresh turmeric and fresh ginger to the pumpkin in our Recovery Chicken & Pumpkin meal 🐶😋

FISH & SWEET POTATO 🧡🧡🧡😋 the rest of the beautiful local sea mullet ( see previous post) was oven poached then popped on a bed of sweet potato & carrot mash with coconut oil, fresh turmeric & ginger, broccoli, zucchini, silverbeet, sardines, mackerel & salmon
Fresh home grown herbs, pumpkin seeds, linseed, chia seed, sunflower seed & our special multi vitamin sprinkle

Most dogs absolutely love fish amd adding it to their diet at least once a week, keeps them fit & healthy with a lovely shiny coat

RUBY & her pups 😍😍😍😍
My Cowboy 🤠 buddy .schubert.5 messaged me a few weeks ago and said he was a little worried about Ruby, the mum of 3 beautiful then 2 weeks old Kelpie X Border Collie pups. He said she seemed to be a bit lethargic and losing weight. I sent him a big list of real foods to add to her / the pups dry food. She would need more calcium to compensate for what was leaving her body in milk for her pups. I said just do the best you can.
So proud when the Cowboy then started sending photos of his culinary efforts farm style 🤩👨🏼‍🍳🐶🐾🥰 Pups now 7 weeks old and going great guns, as is 2 year old Ruby. All pups are going to great country homes to work cattle and sheep.

Just like how we feed ourselves, your dogs dinner doesn’t have to be perfect every night but rather try to focus on balanced nutritional intake over a week. Fish one day, beef or chicken the next. Raw bones, organ meat, sardines or mackerel , a splash of olive or coconut oil.
Get some eggs, veggies & fresh herbs & seeds in there too. Don’t be fooled by fancy dry food packaging, just read the label and use common sense to work out best value for money. The less additives & preservatives the better. Try to avoid nasty numbers in ingredients list.

Another batch of our beautiful small batch dry fish treats 🐟💙 is so lucky to live near the pristine waters of Wallis Lake on the Mid North Coast NSW. Sea Mullet is one of the most sustainable fish species on the east coast of Australia and are plentiful in Autumn and early winter 💙
Buying these, we are also supporting local fishermen who take care to catch only correct size/ weight.
Hand sliced and air dried in our dehydrater, using a small amount of electricity, which is off-set by our 44 acres of heavily timbered old growth forest.
Buying our beautiful hand made pet treats, you are helping us maintain this beautiful property & we promise to never let the trees be chopped down for future development which is currently taking place all along the east coast of Oz.
Our goal is leave this land in trust for wildlife and fresh air long after we gone.
